OK, Take the tomb of the kings road all the way to Coral Bay roundabout, carry on straight. Keep going until you see the Akamas Peninsula sign and turn right at the sign.

Carry on that road until it becomes a dirt track.
Pass the restuarant and you will see the Avakas Gorge sign and parking area.
Park your car and walk. (aprox 1 km to the start of the gorge).

If you're lazy and Cypriot like me, you can drive further on the dirt track and park on the side of the road. lol

Very easy and sign posted.

PS, you're DEFINITALY gonna get wet and muddy, so take old trainers or hiking boots.

The photograph with the boulder reminds me of the film "127 hours". Scary. :) Don't go alone. Make sure it hasn't been raining too much beforehand. etc.

Thank you so much for the info! One last little bit of info. Is the track like really bumpy to walk? I am planning to take my parents when I come for summer and since my dad has a bit of an eye sight issue I don't want him to find it too difficult to walk to.

and Great pictures CAP

Just don't take a hire car past the white river restaurant unless you have checked your insurance cover.
Most companies consider it off road fom this point ..... I'm regularly akamas bound in my 4x4, Moto X bike or quad and regularly see damaged hire cars with deeply troubled drivers who've just had a nasty shock when they ring the hire company and find they have a BIG bill coming !!! ..... Last week , for example, a Czech couple who'd nearly ripped off the back qtr and bumper off a little dahaitsu and 2 brits with buckled wheels/flat tyres on a focus ..... They were after the turn for avakas on the road to Lara/turtle beach

I have visited the canyon lands of Utah where 127 hours is set, and I can tell you that this photo looks almost identical to places I have been through. I am not surprised you thought of the film, it would not be out of place in Utah.
