Bishop of the Karpas Refused Entry to Churches

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Bishop of the Karpas Refused Entry to Churches

Postby bill cobbett » Thu Apr 12, 2012 1:37 pm

The Bishop of the Karpas Christoforos has again been prevented from holding Easter Services in his Churches up in the Karpas.

Indeed not only prevented from attending to his duties in sharing His Word with the Christian Congregation that has survived up there through all the hard-ships imposed by the Racist Occupation Regime but the Bishop is also prevented from crossing into the Occupied Areas.

The Bishop has been turned away from the crossing points on two occasions in March and he has been told that he is on a "stop-list" and refused free passage into the Occupied Areas.

Well, given all this usual anti-Christian intransigence from the Turkish Regime, the Bishop took matters in to his own hands and protested at the Agios Dhometios crossing by practically single-handedly closing the crossing for three hours.

Good for him. He is one of the few who have legitimate reasons for travelling into the invaded part of the island. Anyone else who "visits" the invaded territory is a trader to Cyprus.

Bill,
Why on earth would an English man see Karpasia written on the map and spell Karpas?? Are there any old english maps of Cyprus naming Karpasia as karpas? I am just asking. I don't really know.
