Both are probably free thinkers who independantly arrived at their own points of view, which I suspect in some ways are in fact dis-similar, except for the promotion of Cyprus as Country in its own right and with its own unique (non-Greek) history, Greece being seen as a foreign place.

Maybe Greece was foreign but British Imperialists of the 20th century were from another planet.(Uranus).
