In the UK North Cyprus tourism is advertised or featured widely through the Internet, television and various publications including the national press.

Writing to The Telegraph will not stop this.

We know Turkey spends a LOT on self-publicity and promoting an (unreal) image. The politics of the fanatic Muslim leaders far outweigh the democratic wishes of its impoverished, ill-educated, terrorised people.

I don't know anyone who has a good word to say about Turks when they have fallen victim to their cheap (and illegal) offers and visited these Turk-occupied areas.

Turkey might be hoisted by its own petard - Europeans are turning against Turkey. :)

Nice letter and accurate. I don't agree with those believing that such protests have no effect. All protests and complains count and are useful.

Perhaps the editor of the Telegraph knows the TRUTH of what happened in Cyprus before 1974 ?

Maybe the Telegraph does not condone the attempted genocide on the Turkish inhabitants of Cyprus ?

Just a thought !

Agree, there are people out there who are able to carry out their own research and come to their own conclusions o the Cyprus problem. Most reasonable human beings are well aware there are two sides to every story.

Fanatical, extremist and unrealistic portrayals such as some of those on this forum do not encourage sympathisers. Quite the opposite.

Tourists from around the world continue to visit North Cyprus because of its unspoiled beauty and lack of commercialisation. The isolation and International embargo of the North has ony served to increase it's appeal and value to the world.

"Holiday makers who likewise travel to the North are seen as supporting the illegal regime.

Please therefore stop promoting travel to Northern Cyprus, as it is grossly offensive to do so."

Perhaps you should send a copy of the letter to the ROC who are freely allowing TRNC tourists to use Larnaca airport.
