Sorry, but this is mainly a dodgy Google translation.

"Varosha to open on 1st July?"

In opening the sealed-off city of Famagusta, once the Republic of Cyprus over the Presidency of the EU on July 1, will the Turkish side says today's publication of the Turkish newspaper Milliyet.
Under the heading "Open the ghost town," the Milliyet writes that the so-called "Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus" is preparing to make a historic step. "When the G / C assume the EU presidency, will open Varosha for installation and all R / C will be able to return to their homes. The Turkish newspaper claims to have already begun work on unilateral opening of Varosha.

According to diplomatic sources cited by the MILLIET, Dervis Eroglu has decided to design a new strategy with a view to taking over the EU Presidency of the Republic of Cyprus. As part of this strategy was on the agenda and the opening of Varosha, the day the G / C will assume the presidency of the EU The T / C leader decided to respond to the request of the G / C opening of the closed city, added, and prepared this proposal, and moved to Ankara on 13 March.

During the talks in Turkish capital, and although the proposal surprised the Turkish leaders, Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan and President Abdullah Gul supported it. The Turkish Foreign Ministry and the "foreign ministry" of the pseudostate will prepare a report on the subject which will record the number of G / C to own property. It also set the number of those living and those who died. Based on this report, the pre-1974 properties of C / C will be returned to their owners. If there are legal difficulties will be borne by the so-called compensation committee to solve the problem.

The same meeting also decided to Ankara and the cessation of talks on the Cyprus issue after July 1. In this issue, stated the view of Prime Minister Erdogan was to interrupt the talks, while President Gül supported the continuation to avoid any problems with the new EU attitude Erdogan Commenting on the issue, diplomatic sources told the newspaper that Erdogan'' love'' for the pseudo-state is very large and this showed in the meeting with Mr Eroglu. After the visit of Turkish Prime Minister held at the July 20, 2011 improved relations noted. The same diplomatic source said that the attitude of Ankara includes the choice of integrating the occupied areas.

The publication of MILLIET recalls that President Christofias had also prepared the 2010 proposal to return to the closed city G / C and opening of the port.

Famagusta Mayor: "The question arises recognition of the pseudostate"

This is a very risky tactical move and impress by Turkey, told Sigmalive, Mayor of Famagusta Alexis Galanos. He added that the government should come in contact and consultation with the UN and the EU, stressing that "it is clear that they want to open the city under T / C administration."

If this is done, the Mayor said, it will create problems in the free areas, but the ultimate goal is to populate the city. "Us, our position is clear. The city must be based on Security Council resolutions that have been confirmed by the last resolution of the European Parliament, "said Galanos, adding that" should be given to the UN and then to legal residents and legal state. Question of recognition of the puppet regime. "

There is a proposal to return the substance Famagustian under secure conditions. It's more of a drive-trap for the CCT. "We expect more information," concluded the Mayor .

Will they return all the goods they stole from the town as well? If the inhabitants return en masse the "trnc authorities" will have a serious problem keeping control of the situation and it could backfire badly on Turkey once the world media shows what that country has done out of sheer malice.

Who wants to go and spend any money doing up their places, Turkey cannot be trusted, they will lose it all and thats only a small part of it. The RoC should deal with this mockery immediately. No residents/owners should be allowed to return to continue these pathetic turkish BS games. They are just sore that the RoC will have a route to the world via its EU presidency, whilst the goliath sits on its arse looking in.

How will your leaders stop GCs wanting to reclaim their properties? and how will that reflect on your standing as President of the EU, Turkey is yet again one step ahead of the game.

Many of the old owners are dead, so on their behlf (including my late father) thanks for nothing. It's a pretty hollow gesture if the GCs are going to have to enter via a TC checkpoint and are subject to passport control and searches. Free and uninhibited entry is needed if the place is to be rebuilt. I have a nasty feeling that this is going to backfire on Turkey and the "trnc", for example will you shoot anyone who raises a Greek flag in Varosha?

Turkey is desperate and is just looking for ideas on how to fuckup the RoC presidency. Turkey has spat her dummy out of the pram and is helpless to stop it. Such big, tough talking, 'superpower' turkey, fucked again by Cyprus, bet that doesn't go down well in Ankara, does it.
Any idiot that takes up this ridiculous offer from turkey deserves all they get and I hope they lose more than any investment they make.

Turks subjecting EU citizens to such, further, racist human rights violations, upon EU territory. Nice touch.

The typical Turkish approach...

"We have stolen your wallet, but we are willing to return a small portion of the money, if you will accept that the rest will remain in our hands".

Davidoglu go f*ck yourself!

I think many may visit the ghost town but nobody will put any cash into the place all the while it is under TC control. The Greek Cypriots pay to rebuild the town, probably obliged to employ TC labour to boost "trnc" economy, and then Turkey takes it back. It sounds like a really good offer - for Turkey and the "trnc".
