I had trained many charlies back in the day.
I am not worried one bit I actually want to do it! Most of my family are based in Greece now and only very few remain in Cyprus, what happens when I enroll and pass out etc...will I remain in cyprus in the barracks and what help will i get with accommodation because I will then be seen as a cypriot citizen right?
Did you know that you have the choice to do your military service in Greece and it should still count in the same way as doing it in Cyprus.
Just check on terms and such like to see what suits you best.

I am currently in Greece at the moment so maybe I will look into it, is they anywhere specific i shall look while im here? Thanks
Any of your older male relatives should be able to guide you (or talk you out of your enthusiasm
) - but I don't know where you should start your enquiries which won't immediately initiate the process of conscripting you before you are ready - although they seem to have more exemptions, leniency, than the CNG. Honestly, I tried asking the HC in London something about my son's schooling (12-13 y.o. at the time) and before I could say 'euharisto' - I was transferred to talk to some recruiting general with a gruff voice that was all set to give my son his serial number.
Anyway, here's the Hellenic Forces' website, which one of your relatives might help you translate:
http://www.stratologia.gr/- What you need to determine for certain is your serving within "the joint defence area doctrine between Greece and Cyprus", from what I can gather.
