I had trained many charlies back in the day. :)

I am not worried one bit I actually want to do it! Most of my family are based in Greece now and only very few remain in Cyprus, what happens when I enroll and pass out etc...will I remain in cyprus in the barracks and what help will i get with accommodation because I will then be seen as a cypriot citizen right?

They never put "locals" on the green line because their parents are koumbaroi of some senior officers or they service his car or the senior officers owe them some favour. Just diaspora Cypriots get the Green line duty. At least you will be with other diaspora cypriots.buy bullet proof undies.

Target practice for the Turks? Dont think so mate! My balls are made of steel don't need the bullet proof undies, thanks for info tho

Unfortunately I doubt the govt will be able to provide you any financial support, other than the regular monthly pay after you join (which is very low).

Welcome to the forum mate and 'Good Luck' with your intentions.

If what you state above is TRUE, you will have nothing to worry about when you complete your period of service, you will make a fortune exhibiting them to the general public, you should be able to charge at least 10 Euros a 'Gander', phenomenal!!.

Did you know that you have the choice to do your military service in Greece and it should still count in the same way as doing it in Cyprus. :) Just check on terms and such like to see what suits you best.

- (I only mention this in case you want to be around more members of your family for when you have leave etc)
