I am not worried one bit I actually want to do it! Most of my family are based in Greece now and only very few remain in Cyprus, what happens when I enroll and pass out etc...will I remain in cyprus in the barracks and what help will i get with accommodation because I will then be seen as a cypriot citizen right?

Did you know that you have the choice to do your military service in Greece and it should still count in the same way as doing it in Cyprus. Just check on terms and such like to see what suits you best.
- (I only mention this in case you want to be around more members of your family for when you have leave etc)

Welcome to the forum mate and 'Good Luck' with your intentions.
If what you state above is TRUE, you will have nothing to worry about when you complete your period of service, you will make a fortune exhibiting them to the general public, you should be able to charge at least 10 Euros a 'Gander', phenomenal!!.
