Cyprus should do the same, even if it is in an auxillary position. They should be taught how to handle a gun, how to load and shoot, as a bare minimum. We have the enemy at the door.

I completely agree with this line of thinking that our GC women also have to be taught self-defense/attack with weapons, after the way the savage, disgusting "NATO-Turkish Army" behaved.

Don't worry about not speaking Greek (assuming you don't). One of my half-GC nephews did his military service without speaking any Greek. They placed him with a number of other Brit-Greeks and Aussie-Greeks and he made some very good friends.

If you phone the Embassy/HC in London they have an adviser you can speak to about the procedure.
