Well, the French were reveling in the fact that they got Apoel in the last 16. Such was the joy, that one newspaper wrote about Christmas coming early for Lyon.
Christmas did indeed come early.... to the millions who thought they deserved to be kicked out of the CL following their dubious Ajax endeavour.

Its all a bunch of blah blah until the whistle blows.
Yeah, Apoel might not make it to the semi's, but they threw a wrench in the system. A Cypriot one. And that made the top guns breathe a little harder and their hearts beat a little faster.
And that's good enough for me.

I think with another win, Cyprus moves from #16 to #15 in the UEFA rankings for clubs.

This is very important because we will have two teams in the CL next year! :shock:
