I read it in Wikipedia under Origins of Greeks and I also read the Origins of Seljuk Turks was from an area that covered Persia, Turkmenistan and South West Kazakhstan. Could be next door neighbours.

I also read that there were more Greeks on the outside looking in than there was on the inside looking out during the Siege of Constantinople as the majority of Mehmed II soldiers were renegade Greeks and the majority of soldiers defending Constantinople were Italian volunteers; would you believe that? How and when did *they* get to the region of Armenia? Where they one small isolated *tribe* (now firmly identified as Greek?) which did not pass anywhere else from Africa to "Armenia" of that time? Did they spring up in "Armenia"?

It says in Wikipedia their origins were from the Georgia / Armenia region; I was asking do you Hellenes believe this to be true.

The book by Roger Crowley can be purchased from Amazon and their is a synopsis of the book on there; a very interesting read.

Fancy that the Ancient Greeks came from Eastern Anatolia ( modern Armenia )
