It is also a concern that people are taking their lives as result of poor living conditions, being under a regime that does not differ to that of Syria and Egypt. As well as concerned on the costs of providing care for these people and the increasing burden on the health budget for the Country. Because lets face it we're actually carrying the TC population despite the fact they are living in their own created prison.
I believe that RoC needs to take measures to ensure the safety of its people. One way to do this is education in the free a areas that we're all Cypriots and as such need to respect each others religious beliefs. Following this the RoC needs to provide information upon crossing that if you are a TC from the Paphos area that you are considered a refugee and assistance will be provided to you to build a home on your land in Paphos and as such repopulate people back to their homes of origin. This way less and less TC's will be living in refugee accommodation. These are immediate steps that we can take as a stronger, better, bigger nation.
I appreciate that there is concerns about this issue but I think it is a consideration we need to take. People should not be killing themselves to escape poverty and imprisonment.
Do you know why these suicides happened ? and dont you have any in the south?
Not many people would actually move to reside in the south, have you any idea why?
