Have you heard of the recent record high of suicides among the Kibrisli population?
What does that tell you?

Should warn us of the dangers of living so close to the incessant doom and gloom of VP.

Stay your side of the divide and you can take your chances with russian mafia and far eastern workers.

Why do you think Downer called on the Kibrislis to revolt?
Against who, and for what reason? And what should their aim be?

Pyrpolizer: This is the first time I have heard of TC suicide numbers being on the rise. It is a concern for me who believes that Cyprus is unique because of the cultural mix. It is also a concern that people are taking their lives as result of poor living conditions, being under a regime that does not differ to that of Syria and Egypt. As well as concerned on the costs of providing care for these people and the increasing burden on the health budget for the Country. Because lets face it we're actually carrying the TC population despite the fact they are living in their own created prison.

I believe that RoC needs to take measures to ensure the safety of its people. One way to do this is education in the free a areas that we're all Cypriots and as such need to respect each others religious beliefs. Following this the RoC needs to provide information upon crossing that if you are a TC from the Paphos area that you are considered a refugee and assistance will be provided to you to build a home on your land in Paphos and as such repopulate people back to their homes of origin. This way less and less TC's will be living in refugee accommodation. These are immediate steps that we can take as a stronger, better, bigger nation.

I appreciate that there is concerns about this issue but I think it is a consideration we need to take. People should not be killing themselves to escape poverty and imprisonment.

Do you know why these suicides happened ? and dont you have any in the south?

Not many people would actually move to reside in the south, have you any idea why?

So where’s the credible evidence for the increased suicides and likely culprit? :?

I think we need to find out if there is an increase in suicide and someone needs to provide counselling to people affected to find out as to why. generally when there is suicide increases then there is a linked social issue not addressed. That could allow us to see more into the issue.

I am just besides myself that a leader who is meant to be leading 55,000 people is trying to meet the needs of 80 million rathe than make the lives of those 55,000 better off under the thus far agreed high level talks and agreements. none of which will allow for the recognition of the "trnc". You have meant to have come on the table to negotiate an end to current status quo and recognition status because you ain't getting it.
