Bagis is stating openly what had been the policy for decades.
It will be interesting to hear the reaction from TCs, both here and in the TC press. Bagis has done away with all the rationalisation re protecting the TCs and all that bullshit of the past. It will also be interesting to see the reaction of the UK, USA and the EU. Their reaction can put a sharp stop to Bbagis' crap, or elevate it to an issue. Israel also will have something to say. Cyprus and Greece now form its own vital corridor to the west through moslem territory.
So we are now openly talking ENOSIS of the north with Turkey. And the reaction will be telling. And naturally the RoC will have to think about its future. With a 72 mile border with Turkey there are new strategic aspects. And inevitably the old Double Union idea starts to seem rational. But that was the game all along.
Interesting that a few days ago Stratfor had an article explaining that the discovery of gas in "Greek Cyprus" will make Greece a major energy player in the EU. At first I thought the writer was a buffoon who in typical American fashion did not realise that Cyprus and Greece are separate countries. Now I wonder if he had inside info.
