Kibrislis Vs Settlers

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Kibrislis Vs Settlers

Postby Pyrpolizer » Thu Mar 01, 2012 6:54 pm

The following is a real life incident that shows how close in mentality are the Kibrislis with the Kypreoi contrary to the settlers.
I was walking by the crossing at Ledra street in the evening with my family and had this idea to cross over to the occupied part of the town, but had no ID or anything with me. I thought of asking the Kibrisli officer woman at the crossing whether she could let me go if i gave her my name and ID number. I am sure she could find me on the computer, after all it would be just a one hour walk and back. The woman was thinking about it, hesitating, thought of asking some superior, it was obvious she was trying to serve me as best as she could, and perhaps even take all responsibility and let me pass. Next to her there was a young settler say "new TC" woman with purely oriental looks who seemed agitated hearing all this. At the moment the Kibrisli officer woman was about to tell me "tamam"/OK the "new TC" woman jumped in furious and with full audacity told me "if you don't have passport, go home and sleep"

That was probably VP.

You should have told her that, if she isn't a Cypriot and a EU citizen, she should go and sleep in her own country of Turkey! :D

How do you know who was TCs and who was settler? Talat has oriental looks but he is a TC. Erdogan is a Turk but he doesn't look oriental. I think you see what you want to see ;)

Mostly it is easy to tell, but it works in many ways. It depends on the person, as always, and not necessarily on the place of origin of people.

Any chance of having that in English, or Greek, or even Turkish, so that at least someone understands it?

If this "TC/Kibrisli" woman was working under the (assumed) authority of a passport control/customs, in the occupation-demarcation zone, then she is no different to the illegally occupying Turks.
