I have been advised that there are going to be strikes at Pafos airport next Friday/Saturday, does anyone have any more info.

The strike is scheduled for the 2nd of March from 12:00 to 16:00. But just because it is scheduled it doesn't mean that it will necessarily happen.

At least you didn't type Pathos, which seems to be an ex-pat habit in that area!

"Pafos" is fine and logically correct. It's CBBB's dried up brain cells we should be more worried about... :lol:

Look it's really very simple. It's up to us native English speakers to decide what words get in to the language and which don't, as well as how they are and aren't spelt. Bugger all to do with the the Republic's Nationalist Road Sign Department.

So it's Paphos which is in Cyprus whose capital is spelt as Nicosia and not flipping bleeding well spelt Lefkosia in English.... oh and it's Larnaca and not Larnaka and it's Definitely Absolutely and with No Shadow of Doubt Kyrenia ( and not frigging Girne ).

Now can some kind soul tell us why we spell Ayios with a g as Agios ???


(oh and where's Mumbai?)
