Failure should not be the destiny of Cyprus talks, G/c and T/c parties stress

Failure should not be the destiny of the Cyprus talks, leaders and representatives of Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot political parties have stressed.
Political parties, which meet regularly under the auspices of the Slovak Embassy in Nicosia, expressed on Wednesday opinions on the issue: “Is failure unavoidable in Cyprus talks, what will be the consequences of another failure in Cyprus talks?”. The issue was proposed by the hosting party, the Turkish Cypriot Republican Turkish Party.
According to the joint communique, read by Slovak Ambassador Anna Turenikova, “political parties agreed that failure should not be the destiny of Cyprus talks, that the next few months are crucial and all parties should make a concerted effort to make real progress heading towards an early solution”.
“As political parties, we agreed with UNSG Ban Ki-moon that the issue is not the number of meetings held but whether the sides have the political will to move forward”. For the sake of the future of Cyprus, “the current opportunity for a permanent and mutually acceptable solution should not be missed so all the Cypriots start enjoying the political, economic and social benefits of the solution”, Turenikova said.
The next regular meeting of the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot political parties will be held on the 21st of March, 2012, at 10:30 at the Ledra Palace, in the UN controlled buffer zone.

I fail to see how we're going to move forward. All I can see in sight is the RoC getting on with the business of excelling itself as a valuable member of the EU. Whilst on the political front the status quo continues on for another decade.
