I hope Congress does not approve any military action. What an absolute waste of time thinking that who ever or whatever replaces the present Syrian regime is going to be either democratic or just and fair.
America, don't be so ffff ing naïve and stupid. STAY OUT of Syria.

There you go, Schnauzer. There's your Milty full U- turn. Now he just needs to realise Israel is not our "friend" but a convenient and temporary business ally over the Gas finds. Because Israel and Turkey, USA and UK are all in cahoots to bring complete instability to this region so that they can continue selling their weapons of mass destruction and helping themselves to the Gas and Oil for free!

Of course, if they had never managed to isolate Cyprus from Greece, most of the northern waters would have been Greek-Cypriot waters and NOT international waters. The sharks would not have been able to encircle us like this!

It's OK GiGs (if I may be so bold ?) I am of the opinion that Miltiades never did think much of Obama in any case, not since he predicted that he would NEVER win the race to the 'White House', it is quite possible that there might have been a little 'Racism' attached to his prediction BUT, in THIS case I am forced to write "Thanks be to Jayzus" I think he is with us at last.

God Bless and Best Wishes. :|

Our best friend in the region atm is Israel and it seems Israel is now the only country willing and able to help the RoC on many levels. And, because of this developing relationship, we are becoming a trusted ally to both the US and UK, while Turkey seems to be a big concern. In short, the geostrategic landscape is changing.

All the rest, EU and Greece included are full of shit!

Cyprus is far too small to be playing power politics, and the RoC should have been under this US/UK umbrella and within the NATO umbrella from 1960 and onwards rather than play stupid games which has divided our island!

Unless Greece mans up, then they deserve no respect from us! Much rather get closer to the US.

Our problems culminated from non alignment and our relations with Warsaw Pact countries. A little speck within the NATO pond of the Mediterranean was creating waves.

I dream of the day when we have politicians that can recognize the "big picture" stuff that effects our security.

good points Paphites....

It also seems that many in the population of Cyprus still believe that the Russians are holding the Americans at bay. The politicians are feeding the population this nonsense and the citizens are buying it up.

The reality is, is that if the Americans begin to bomb a certain portion of these different groups on the ground in Syria, then the conflict spreads into the Russian heartland and an inevitable Russian spring will arise...Thats the conflict between Obama and Putin.

Dont be so foolish you two!
To disagree with one particular issue does not in any shape or form alter my views on the USA.

I have not made a Uturn neither am I about to do one. Supporting a nation does not infer that all actions by this nation are to be accepted.

America will make a very serious mistake in getting involved in Syria even more so since the " involvement" necesitates alliance with bloody AlQeuada .

Bot GIG and my dear friend, from now ON to be referred to as SR, ARE EXXEDINGLY NAIVE when it comes to political matters.
