Hundreds of Syrian “White Helmets” evacuated by Israel to Jordan

Jordan said on Sunday that it had allowed the UN to arrange the entry and passage of 800 Syrian civil defence workers whose lives were in danger after a government offensive that regained rebel-held parts of southern Syria, a foreign ministry spokesman said.

The kingdom agreed to a request by Britain, Germany and Canada, which have been funding the organisation, to give the White Helmet workers temporary asylum in the kingdom before settlement in the West on humanitarian grounds, Mohammad al Kayed the spokesman said.

The 800 members were evacuated via Israel from southwest Syria, where a Russian-backed Syrian government offensive is underway, media said.

...a UN initiative; does this add to the White Helmets' credibility?

There are those that are still convinced that the White Helmets are the Guardian Angels of the Syrian people ...... those Syrians that suffered under the terrorists occupation see it very differently.

Jihadists preparing chemical weapons provocation in Idlib – Russian MOD

By Leith Aboufadel - 2018-08-251

BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:20 A.M.) – The jihadist rebels are preparing provocations with the use of chemical weapons in order to frame the Syrian government, the Russian Ministry of Defense said on Saturday morning.

The provocations are being prepared by the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham (former Jabhat Fateh Al-Sham and Jabhat Al-Nusra) in the Idlib province, the Russian Defense Ministry spokesman, Major General Igor Konashenkov, said.

The attack would be used as a pretext for US, UK and French airstrikes on Syrian targets, Konashenkov added. USS ‘The Sullivans,’ an Arleigh Burke-class Aegis guided missile destroyer, has already been deployed in the Persian Gulf a couple of days ago, he said.

The destroyer has 56 cruise missiles on board, according to data from the Russian Defence Ministry.

No further details were provided regarding this alleged provocation.

The Russian Ministry of Defense made a similar claim during the East Ghouta offensive; however, the U.S. and its allies disregarded their reports in order to attack Damascus.

This claim comes as the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and their allies prepare to kickoff their long-awaited offensive in the Latakia, Idlib, and Hama governorates.

Terrorists are preparing a chemical weapons attack to frame Damascus and provoke an international reaction, the Russian Defense Ministry said, adding that it would be used as a pretext for the US and its allies to strike Syria.

The attack would be used as a pretext for US, UK and French airstrikes on Syrian targets, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman, Major General Igor Konashenkov said. USS 'The Sullivans,' an Arleigh Burke-class Aegis guided missile destroyer, was already deployed to the Persian Gulf a couple of days ago, he added.

Comment: The Russian Defense Ministry has accused the United States, the United Kingdom and France of preparing to carry out new strikes against Syria under the pretext of chemical weapons use by the Syrian government forces.
"The Western countries' actions in spite of their public statements are aimed at another sharp deterioration of the situation in the Middle East region and the disruption of the peace process on the territory of Syria," ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov noted.

The destroyer has 56 cruise missiles on board, according to data from the Russian Defence Ministry. A US Rockwell B-1 Lancer, a supersonic bomber equipped with 24 cruise missiles, has also been deployed at the Qatari Al Udeid Airbase

The provocations are being prepared by militants from Al-Nusra Front (now known as Tahrir al-Sham) in Idlib province, northwestern Syria.

In order to stage the attack, some eight canisters of chlorine were delivered in to village near Jisr al-Shughur city for the terrorists' use, he added. A separate group of militants, prepped by private British security company Olive, have also arrived in the area. The group will be disguised as volunteers from the White Helmets group and will simulate a rescue operation involving locals purportedly injured in the attack, according to the military official.

According to the Defense Ministry spokesman, recent statements by US National Security Advisor John Bolton - in which he threatened to bomb Syria - could be interpreted as an implicit confirmation of such airstrikes. On August 22, Bolton stated that "... if the Syrian regime uses chemical weapons, we will respond very strongly and they really ought to think about this a long time."

In April, the US, UK and France unleashed a bombing campaign on Syria. The airstrikes were carried out in response to an alleged gas attack in Douma on April 7, which the West blamed on Bashar Assad's government. The operation started hours before a team from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) was due to reach the city.

Back then, Syrian defenses were scrambled to repel some 103 cruise missiles and air-to-surface missiles launched at civilian and military targets by the Western trio. It managed to intercept at least 71 of them, the Russian Defense Ministry said at the time.

Russia Sends Largest Naval Armada Of Syrian War Amidst New Chemical Attack Warning

Russia Sends Largest Naval Armada Of Syrian War Amidst New Chemical Attack Warnings
Profile picture for user Tyler Durden

We observed previously after John Bolton's threat late this week of "greater military force" should chemical weapons allegations emerge against Damascus, that a familiar pattern has long been in play on Syria: just when it appears the jihadists are on the brink of final defeat, and as stability is returning after seven years of grinding war, something happens to bring things right back to the brink of global crisis and escalation.

Authored and submitted by Leith Aboufadel via Al Masdar News,

Russia has built up its forces around the Mediterranean Sea in response to reports that the U.S., France, and Great Britain could be preparing to attack Syria after US National Security Advisor John Bolton informed Russia that America is prepared to respond with greater military force than it has used against Assad’s regime in the past, according to Bloomberg.

According to Yoruk Isik of the Bosphorus Observer, the Russian Navy has sent another armada of ships towards Syria’s territorial waters in order to increase the strength of their forces around the country.

Foreign specialists’ may stage chemical attack in Syria in 2 days to frame Assad – Russian MoD

Foreign specialists” have arrived in Syria and may stage a chemical attack using chlorine in “the next two days,” the Russian Defense Ministry said. This will be filmed for international media to frame Damascus forces.
Defense Ministry Spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov said the operation is planned to unfold in the village of Kafr Zita in Syria’s northwestern Hama Province in “the next two days.”

Konashenkov said that “English-speaking specialists” are already in place to use “poisonous agents.” While a group of residents from the north has been transported to Kafr Zita and is currently being prepared “to take part in the staging of the attack” and be filmed suffering from supposed “‘chemical munitions’ and ‘barrel bombs’ launched by the Syrian government forces.”

The groups of residents will be used to assist “fake rescuers from the White Helmets.” They will be filmed apparently suffering from the effects of chemical weapons and then be shown in “the Middle Eastern and English-language media.”

The defense ministry earlier warned that the US, UK, and France are preparing to use the planned attack as a pretext for airstrikes against Syria. The USS The Sullivans, an Arleigh Burke-class Aegis guided missile destroyer, was already deployed to the Persian Gulf a couple of days ago.

On August 22, US National Security Adviser John Bolton stated that “if the Syrian regime uses chemical weapons, we will respond very strongly and they really ought to think about this a long time.”

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov earlier warned that the US is not finished looking for pretexts for regime change in Damascus.

In April, the US, UK, and France unleashed a bombing campaign on Syria in response to an alleged gas attack in Douma, which the West blamed on Bashar Assad’s government. The operation started hours before a team from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) was due to reach the city.

The Russians seem to know in advance where the US coalition, using the White Helmets, Al-Qaida etc. are planning a false flag chemical weapons incident .......... and announce it a few days before!

So the World is advised beforehand what and where an incident is being planned and they have to abandon it. There have been several reports of late coming out of Syria/Russia but they don’t appear in the Western MSM, of course. So those that don’t get their news elsewhere don’t know about it! It certainly prevents these ‘false flags’ from giving the US and its allies an excuse to bomb Syria and blame the Syrian Government.

Long may it continue to be so! :)

It may well be that it is Turkey/Turkey's supported rebels who will use chemical weapons in Idlib and then blame it on Assad to get the west to bomb Syria. Turkey at present is very worried losing control of Idlib, because Afrin will be next on the list.

Idlib is full of terrorist groups and their families. I am not sure but, those that threaten Turkey (YPG?), are not in Idlib ? The terrorists families are the civilians the MSM is so worried about, most of the Syrian civilians who have been held hostage for many years have been relocated by Syrian forces to the government held areas.

I believe that Afrin is occupied by anti-Turkish militias supported by the US. So Erdogan should be worried. It will be Assad and the Russians that will eventually clear Idlib out ..... but I think Afrin is far more likely to be sorted out by negotiation.
