Mohammad Mosaddegh was an Iranian politician. He was the democratically elected Prime Minister of Iran from 1951 until 1953, when his government was overthrown in a coup d'état aided by the American Central Intelligence Agency and the British Secret Intelligence Service.

An author, administrator, lawyer, and prominent parliamentarian, his administration introduced a range of progressive social and political reforms such as social security and land reforms, including taxation of the rent on land. His government's most notable policy, however, was the nationalization of the Iranian oil industry, which had been under British control since 1913 through the Anglo-Persian Oil Company (APOC/AIOC) (later British Petroleum and BP).

Many Iranians regard Mosaddegh as the leading champion of secular democracy and resistance to foreign domination in Iran's modern history. Mosaddegh was removed from power in a coup on 19 August 1953, organised and carried out by the CIA at the request of MI6, which chose Iranian General Fazlollah Zahedi to succeed Mosaddegh.

While the coup is commonly referred to in the West as Operation Ajax[12] after its CIA cryptonym, in Iran it is referred to as the 28 Mordad 1332 coup, after its date on the Iranian calendar. Mosaddegh was imprisoned for three years, then put under house arrest until his death and was buried in his own home so as to prevent a political furor.

notice he was democratically elected prime minister with social reforms in other words left leaning.

now will you furquine get lost

OVER ....60 years ago

thats right and there you were claiming these people cannot have democracy. they had democracy till the west removed it asshole. ffs.

long live the democratic principles of the west.

I wouldn't be calling this a victory at all.

It is called Ethnic Cleansing. More displaced people. many war crimes.

And of course the wear continues for us. the Coalition will NEVER be leaving Syria and has its own objectives.

There will never be peace and stability in Syria.

the fact that you are celebrating is a sad indictment on yourself.

BTW, your figures on Aborigines are in fact incorrect.

There are only 250,000 real Aborigines in Australia.

The issue arises in the definition of Aborigine. Those who have had a single Aborigine in their family tree and those who marry an Aborigine can self identify as Aboriginal and claim all the social benefits this status bestows.

There are CYPRIOTS in Australia which are classifies as Australian Aboriginal.

I doubt whether even a single Cypriot or anyone else would consider ethnic cleansing, war crimes, the killing of innocents as " victory". What most people see now is that the Syrian government has taken control of Aleppo. What gives you the idea that anyone is thrilled at the horrific events taking place in Aleppo OR ELSEWHERE in Syria.
You are again playing imaginary war games oblivious to the fact that the west has given up on the rebels, having realized that the only reason almost half a million have been killed and millions displaced is because the west backed the rebels. How many Syrians were killed 5 years before the war ? How many displaced?
Who told you by the way that the " Coalition will NEVER leave Syria" , It appears to me that you have convinced your self that you are the decision maker !!!
Mate, Assad is a dictator the same as every other leader in the ME, but who in your opinion would replace Assad? Another dictator , an Islamist, or a ...benevolent Democrat !!

Sectarian Cleansing is what is occurring in Syria - east Aleppo.

Furthermore, millions of Syrians will leave Syria under the regime for Europe - millions!

If only our stupid western leaders had listened to me in 2012 and stayed out of Syria. As you your self said " sometimes is better to support.... "

None of this tragedy would have occurred at the scale it now has if the west had not actively encouraged the rebels and not stupidly demanding the removal of Assad. Look at the fucking mess they have helped to create. Again I state that I'm not an Assad supporter but I firmly believe that he and only he can bring about an end to this tragedy since there is no alternative to be found amongst the 100 or so jihadists fighting the government. As for the rubbish uttered by many western leaders including our ex PM in that there are thousands of ....moderate rebels ( my arse) well what can one say apart from the fact that the west in this instanced has contributed to the continuation of this dreadful war.

Of course you wouldn’t ..... because YOU are the losers, so it must just be a temporary set- back until YOU can mount YOUR counter offensive ?   Yeah ... right! So when you eventually manage to take back Mosul from Daesh, if YOU ever do, YOU will then be losers ..... right?

It is called Ethnic Cleansing. More displaced people. many war crimes.

Yes you are right ...... the Syrians are cleansing themselves of all the foreigners YOU have been paying to get rid of Assad, that is ALL YOU are interested in ..... certainly not the Syrian people. The Government is giving an amnesty to those who are Syrian nationals and residents of Aleppo.

Tell me .... where is all the humanitarian aid from the US/UK and other coalition members for the people of Aleppo ? Answer; there isn’t any ! Not a single blanket, bag of flour or Aspirin has come from the US coalition partners or the EU ....... all the aid being supplied is from the Syrian government and the Russian government. They are providing food, medicine and accommodation even schooling for the children, to over 120,000 people who have managed after four years to get rid of YOUR terrorists and escape to the Government controlled areas of the city. Who do the vast majority thank for their liberation? The Syrian Army and the Russian’s. :D

Yes war there are war crimes, crimes committed by YOU as the sponsors of terrorism against the Syrian people and its elected government and President.
And of course the wear continues for us. the Coalition will NEVER be leaving Syria and has its own objectives.

You mean like YOU would NEVER allow Aleppo to fall to the ‘Regime’ and would NEVER desert YOUR terrorists The SAA/Russians are now moving YOUR terrorists and their families to Idlib, in case you missed it .... over 6,000 in the last 24 hours. They are just packing more rats into the trap ...... the next air campaign? Maybe Idlib.

The US coalition WILL leave Syria and very shortly. As for YOURobjectives’ ..... I think the world is beginning to understand that YOUR objectives create nothing but death and destruction in the countries you chose as you victims.

There will never be peace and stability in Syria.

Certainly not all the time YOU and YOUR coalition are there, and the Islamic Monsters YOU have created will no doubt continue terrorist atrocities for generations to come ... of that there can be no doubt. But it is heading into Europe and then it will eventually reach the US. :o

the fact that you are celebrating is a sad indictment on yourself.

Yes .... I for one celebrate with the vast majority of the Syrian people as they rejoice in the liberation of Aleppo from the terror, the destruction and death, inflicted on them by YOUR proxy protégés. Unfortunately for you, you will never see this side of events because you believe only MSM propaganda. Hopefully, all these allegations of war crimes against the Assad government and he Russians, will be dispelled in time and the real war criminals exposed. But of course being one of them, your denial of compliance to International Law and Conventions will be replaced with .....'We were only obeying orders!' Didn't work last time and it won't this time either.

Sectarian Cleansing is what is occurring in Syria - east Aleppo.

That is a new one on me .... really .... and your source for that gem is.....? :?:

Furthermore, millions of Syrians will leave Syria under the regime for Europe - millions!

I expect there are tens of millions of Iraqi's and Libyans who wish they had never listened to YOUR assurances they would be much better off without Saddam and Ghadaffi but would dearly like the opportunity to turn the clock back .... to the 'good-old-days' ?

I doubt your hypothesis very much. What will happen is that when YOU have been sent back over the Syrian border and the Syrian Government tries to get back to some semblance of normality, many of these refugees will return to their homes, as they are already, as there will be a lot of jobs to be had as the country re-build’s itself. This will be with help from the Russians, Iranians and the Chinese. I am afraid none of the US coalition or its backers in Europe will get a look in.

Don't be fucking stupid!

Staying out of Syria would have been irresponsible. We have a duty to ensure ISIL do not succeed.

But our mission has been complicated by others now and will metamorphose into regime subversion and partition for the creation of a Kurdish State and the annexation of Idlib Province and Raqqa and also to control the Oil and Gas resources so that there are safe havens for the Sunni Arabs as well.

ISIL now is lower in our priorities.

@ Robin, I don't read your posts, and the loser is your side I am afraid because we will tear Syria apart and there is nothing you war criminals can do about it. ENJOY!

We have every right to tear Syria apart and create safe havens now. There is no such thing as Syrian Sovereignty as far as we are concerned because of the Ethnic Cleansing of Syrians.

The war has only just begun.
