I note ....you say South of Aleppo not Aleppo city! :?: They have retaken Palmyra if that is what you are referring to? :?:

Aleppo is a battle against a foreign sponsored and armed army of terrorists, not ISIS per se. The terrorists occupy about 70% of Syria but it is mainly small villages and desert. ISIL is more to the east side of Syria and in Iraq. When Aleppo finally falls and the terrorists are defeated there, it will release thousands of well armed, well trained, well supported battle hardened troops who will then exterminate the rest of the terrorists. :D

THEN they can get on with helping the US Coalition exterminating ISIL ......... well at least up to the border with Iraq !

Thanks RH, I am a bit out of touch at the moment, maybe I was misinformed or I misunderstood.

Its a year ago since the British parliament voted in favour of airstrikes against ISLAMIST SAVAGES, IS, in Syria
"Cameron wins Syria airstrikes vote by majority of 174 "
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/bl ... -isis-live

We now know that neither the Brits or the coalition as a whole is doing anything to defeat these savages.
Regime change is what the Parliament unknowingly voted for .

About an hour ago ......... I think you could call this a 'fluid situation'?

Last night the Syrian army recaptured the newly invaded ISIL areas of Palmyra taken by them earlier in the day. Now they have mobilised 4,000 ISIL terrorists to recapture the area again. Last night the Russians launched 60 air strikes on ISIL killing many and destroying their equipment and driving them back again. So, now they will have to do the same all over again. For what? :x

How do ISIL get reinforcements from Raqqa and Deir al Zor ....... Paphitis claimed it was surrounded by US Coalition Proxies? Obviously a very porous perimeter or did the US take them by bus to the outskirts of Palmyra. How can satellites and drones miss that number of insurgents on open ground?

I think this is a diversion to keep the news off the successes of the Syrian forces in Aleppo. It’s pretty obvious that the US is highly embarrassed that their terrorists are being slaughtered and are obviously losing the battle for the city.

Russia says Islamic State launches second assault on Syria's Palmyra - Reuters

MOSCOW More than 4,000 Islamic State militants have regrouped and launched a second attack to try to recapture the ancient city of Palmyra, Russian news agencies cited Russia's monitoring center in Syria as saying on Sunday.

"Despite heavy losses in manpower and equipment, the terrorists are trying as hard as possible to secure a foothold inside the city," Interfax quoted a statement from the center as saying. "Syrian troops are fighting to defend Palmyra."
The center said Islamic State was drawing on "significant forces" from its strongholds in Raqqa and Deir al Zor.
