So close! So close to Turkey! :P

The Kuznetsov battle group paused in its approach towards Syria off the east coast of Crete on Thursday, to carry out aviation exercises. Russian ministry of defence footage showed warplanes taking off and landing on its deck. The Kuznetsov is carrying about 10 Sukhoi-33 and four Mig-29 fighter aircraft, as well as up to two dozen helicopters.

A Russian frigate armed with cruise missiles has passed through the Bosphorus on its way to the eastern Mediterranean in a potentially ominous development for the embattled Syrian city of Aleppo.

The Admiral Grigorovich, part of Russia’s Black Sea fleet, arrived off the Syrian coast on Friday as the latest pause in the Russian bombardment of eastern Aleppo came to an end, adding to an emphatic Russian show of naval force in the Mediterranean.

Three Russian submarines from Russia’s northern fleet capable of firing Kalibr missiles are also reported to have arrived in the Mediterranean.

Can Putin please kill two birds with one stone? Sort Syria for Assad and tear-down Turkey for us? :)

that's innocent passage when they go through the Bosphorus.

In other words, they are not allowed to be attacking Turkey, otherwise its not innocent and Turkey would be well justified in sinking the frigate to the bottom.

In addition, no one seems very convinced at the moment that the kuznetsof is actually at full capability. Until we see them launch some planes that is. One thing having the planes, but if there are no pilots able to operate from a deck, then there are issues. Russians haven't launched from a carrier deck in years.

You see, if the Ministry of Defence in Moscow say they are launching planes, we will take it with a grain of salt until we actually detect them launching and NATO say they have. So far, they have exceeded our expectations by even making it as far as Crete.

Greece is about to surpass the total number of dead through suicide than all of WW2. now that is a sobering thought, which I bet none of you even knew.

These economic issues, whether in Russia, europe or North America just bring us closer to all out war. When there is less to lose, and everyone is struggling, then you might as well go to war. Poverty is the biggest starter of war than anything else.

Where on earth do you get your information from? WW2 caused the death of more than half a million Greeks, are you telling us that suicides are about to exceed this number ?
I think you just love making things up.

I was talking about soldiers, not those who died of disease and famine.

Greece has already surpassed its losses from the Oct 28 war against Italy in Northern Greece and Albania twofold through suicide, and that is a staggering statistic.

And these kinds of suicide are predominately Males.

Apparently some 35,000 lost their lives due to military activities, a further 171 thousand civilians lost their lives due to military activities. Your statement on SUICIDES ABOUT TO EXCEED
THOSE KILLED IN WW2 IS WRONG.

I didn't mention the entire WW2. Go back and read my posts.

And in addition, in its current trajectory, Greece will also exceed its entire military losses of WW2. This is a very big issue for males who can't support their families, especially in Greek culture.

I only mentioned the campaign against Italy immediately after Greece entered WW2.

Greece lost 6500 soldiers in that campaign. And it's suicide rate now has exceeded that by far.

this Financial crisis is having an epic effect on Greece socially. Epic!

He's an idiot. According to wiki, Greece ranks 140th out of 170 countries for suicides. That's lower than most developed countries (Sweden, USA, UK, France etc) including Cyprus (128th).

I can't find a link that actually tallies a body count. not even WHO have one, but estimate over a million suicides every year.

They usually give statistics of suicides on a per 100,000 basis. I guess it makes it easier to compare a percentage rate between countries.

In addition, I'm not talking about 2016 data, but older data back between 2010 to 2012 where Greece had a huge spike. The below study should help you.

Take it easy with the language. I never insulted you once. I refuse to stoop that low.
