THE SPECTATOR:
" Putin’s winning in Syria – but making a powerful new enemy"
" Russia’s bombing of the city of Aleppo this week sent a clear message: Vladimir Putin is now in charge of the endgame in Syria. Moscow’s plan — essentially, to restore its ally Bashar al-Assad to power — is quickly becoming a reality that the rest of the world will have to accept. America, Britain and the rest may not be comfortable with Putin’s ambitions in the Middle East, or his methods of achieving them. But the idea of backing a ‘moderate opposition’ in Syria has been proved a fantasy that leaves the field to Putin and Assad."
http://www.spectator.co.uk/2016/02/puti ... new-enemy/

"Putin is also seeking to reconcile Syria’s warring factions. While the Pentagon spent billions trying to train an army of democracy–friendly moderates which turned out not to exist"

Most respected analysts seem to agree that the West got it dreadfully wrong.

Why the west should listen to Putin on Syria
Simon Jenkins

"Putin is right. Everyone knows Putin is right, that the only way forward in Syria, if not to eternal slaughter, is via the established government of Bashar al-Assad and his Lebanese and Iranian allies."

A ....Democracy that says:
" Saudi Arabia: Assad ‘Will Be Removed by Force’ If Syria Peace Talks Fail"

" We will push as much as we can to ensure that the political process works. But if that doesn’t work, it will be because of the obstinance of the Syrian regime and that of its allies,”

“And should that prove to be the case, then it becomes clear that there is no option to remove Bashar al-Assad except by force.”
http://21stcenturywire.com/2016/02/15/s ... alks-fail/

Mark Sleboda, an international affairs and security analyst, says that:

“The very threat to use force against another state is considered a capital crime of aggression and violation of the UN Charter and International Law.”

Saudi Arabia seems to be so desperate to topple Syrian President Assad that it is prepared to supply surface-to-air missiles to Islamist Syrian militants to achieve the purpose; however, the German media suggests that Russian aircraft will be the actual target.

Saudi Arabia has announced it is ready to supply surface-to-air missiles to the Syrian rebels in order “to change the balance of power on the ground” and “to allow the 'moderate opposition' to neutralize the helicopters and aircraft.”
The German media, however, suggests these will be used against Russia, as it is mostly Russian aircraft operating there.
“We believe that introducing surface-to-air missiles in Syria is going to change the balance of power on the ground. It will allow the moderate opposition to be able to neutralize the helicopters and aircraft that are dropping chemicals and have been carpet-bombing them, just like surface-to-air missiles in Afghanistan were able to change the balance of power there,” Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said in an interview with German Spiegel.
However, another German outlet, Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten, suggests that the minister’s reference to the “moderate opposition” is a pure euphemism, because the militant groups on the ground are, in fact, being remotely operated by global or regional powers and act in cooperation with such terrorist organizations as the Al-Nusra Front.

These military groups are being supported by the US and Saudi Arabia in their fight against President Assad, it says, adding that these missiles will, in actuality, be used against the Assad government and Russian warplanes, the latter of which are playing the most active role in the country's air campaign.
Meanwhile, the top Saudi diplomat clearly specified that his country's final aim is to topple Syria's legitimate president and “Russia will not save him.”
“In the long term, it will be a Syria without Bashar Assad,” he told Spiegel. “The longer it takes, the worse it will get.”

“We warned when the crisis began in 2011 that unless it was resolved quickly, the country would be destroyed. Unfortunately, our warnings are coming true,” he added.
Adel al-Jubeir reiterated that Riyadh is also prepared to invade Syria with ground troops, as long as the US-led coalition gives the go-ahead.
“The air campaign started, but it became very obvious that there may have to be a ground component. Saudi Arabia has said that if the US-led coalition against Daesh is prepared to engage in ground operations, we will be prepared to participate with special forces,” he stated.

It is getting pathetic watching Erdogan and Davutoglu growling at US, for the US to choose them (Turkey) over the YPG. I don't know how many ways the US has to tell these two peasants so that they can understand very simple English/Turkish that the US has chosen the YPG over them, but they still don't get it. These two corrupt peasant criminals to what they are doing to the Kurds in Turkey and their illegal shelling into Syria from the safety from within their borders and to top it off, getting caught red handed lying to the world as to who was responsible the recent car bombing in Ankara. These two liars for Turkey's leadership are determined to do and say anything in order to commit more crimes against the Kurds and the Syrians. Now they want the US to make an unequivocal and unconditional support for these two peasants and Turkey over the YPG with no if's or buts.

The question(s) I have for these two peasants and Turkey is, where was the unequivocal and unconditional support for the US when the US wanted to go into Iraq through Turkey? That refusal by Turkey had cost the US many soldiers lives and treasure and if that wasn't bad enough, they again refused the use of Turkish air base for the US jets to bomb the ISIS in Syria in the first 4 years of the Syrian conflict. Did they think the American forget these refusals? If so, they must be really stupid peasant criminals. Just because they can commit their crimes in Turkey and get away with it, these two are as important as a flea on an elephant ass on the world stage. They are good at in trying to blackmailing the EU over the refugees by threatening the EU that he will use the refugees against the EU unless the EU fulfill a laundry list of conditions. Through Turkey's dirty politics in Syria which created the mass exodus of refugees into Turkey in the first place is now using the refugees to threaten the EU. Is not bad enough that the Turks are making a killing on the refugees by trying to smuggle them into Greece with death-trap boats and "life-jackets", now they want to use the refugees once again to make a killing from the EU by demanding 3 Billion Euros for each of the next two years and a visa free travel to the Turks and opening new EU chapters, for a Hitler wannabee Erdogan and a non democratic country of Turkey.

It is time for the EU to close it's borders completely and do away with Schengen until Syria is back to normal again than allow Turkey to blackmail the EU. I don't mind showing my passpart each time I cross borders within the EU. That is a very small price to pay than allowing Hitler wannabee Erdogan and his peasant sidekick Davutoglu have their blackmailing demands met by the EU.

The bombing of the terrorist created by Turkey and US in the first place in Syria will continue by the Russians/Syrians. The bombing will continue until the terrorists who are against the state of Syria are either killed or that they return back to Turkey. Very simple.
