CF a real reflection of the Cyprus Dispute?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I assure you I am a new poster. I began reading on here when I was in North and South Cyprus last week. I am posting this week for the first time. I've always been interested in the history of Cyprus, but on this visit I began reading again as my interest was sparked by all the exploring we did. We visited some of the places where GC's and TC's still reside together, either side by side or in close proximity. We talked to many of the elders ...

The TC's of course do not come to any harm, just as the GC's do not while visiting the opposite sides of the island. There is still a huge armed military presence and UN corps all over the place. While the South is campaigning on the International stage for resolution, and the North up until recently were hoping for EU membership, it would NOT be good PR for either side!

I think the TC's would not bode well over the passage of time within a reconciliation of Cyprus. They ask for 50% representation in Parliament as a means of ensuring they are protected. They cannot trust after what Makarios did to them the last time.

It WOULD be disproportionate, I agree. Do you have another way though?

Hello - I gave you the one and only "Cyprus Land Registry" which was compiled by the British back in 1959. As I recall, the Brits favoured the TCs so they were probably more than generous in their proportions in your favour. Now why don't YOU do me a favour and tell me where you get such a figure as 33% ? (apart from your friend Expatkiwi's made-up source)?

-You really are ingrained with a separatist, segregationist, racist mindset aren't you!

The amount of aggression emanating from the GC's on this forum is unsettling and quite scary....

Listen dear - this is a discussion forum; arguing over facts, figures and feelings. We (GCs) don't go out and shoot and kill and rape and steal land from others like your people do. I know which type of "aggression" I prefer and that's why the sooner the Turks are off our soil, the better we shall all sleep.

I did cite my source, please re read posts.

Not interested in throwing around personal insults.

The GC's DID rape and steal and kill as well as the Turkish mainland military. Until the GC's stop pretending that didn't happen a resolution will never be found.

I take issue with the fact that you seem unable to separate Turkeyile and Kibrisli.

GIG, please supply an exhaustive list of 'sources' you personally will accept as factual, and I will do so.

So you can't find a credible source.

Just quote directly or give a link to the source of the figure of 33% which you are stuck upon. You either have it or don't. Be honest.

British land registry details of Cyprus quoting that figure would be a start ...

To avoid any back and forth on what you constitute as a factual source, supply a list of what you will accept and I will do so.
