Company owner conned

A COMPANY owner was conned out of almost €4,500 by a misleading email.
According to the police yesterday, the businessman – who imports and sells electrical appliances – said that he received an email a few days ago from someone posing as an employee from a company he cooperates with abroad.
The so-called employee told the complainant he owed €4,359 in an unsettled bill.
The businessmen sent the money through a money transfer shop, to the name he was given by the conman.
On Wednesday, he realised his money had ended up in another country and had been received by a stranger.
