Providing it concerns concenting adults (and preferably in private), does sexual inclination make a difference to the competence of the man as leader?

It makes them susceptible to manipulation (if you will forgive the pun).

He won't sell Cyprus out, he has experience at an international level and is the architect of the recent strengthening of ties between Cyprus and Israel. He also understands international propaganda and is well aware of the importance of getting the US firmly on side. He probably won't be in the running though due to the Mari incident.

A distant second choice would be Marcoulis.

...Nikos is the only "straight" one, your choice is a raving poufte, and I won't even comment about the other bloke you mentioned!

What makes you believe that Nikos is "straight", because he is maried with children and grandchildren?!?!?!
And since when does the private life of a person has anything to do with their work?!?!?! Thats type of thinking can only be made by petty minds. :?

Nikos was a firm believer of the sollution via the A.P. so was Demetrakis, the 1st one was never given the chance to prectise as a president and prove us all wrong or right and the 2nd one made a whole mess at Mari and Vasiliko with the result of 13 souls being bruttaly murdered by his naive and idiotic attitude, a big mess with the economy and the finances, a whole big mess with the C.P. and all the promises he gave the invadors. AND on top of that he is a poor cheated hasband that has no clue where Mari is!

Markos was a promising politician and should have declined the offer of Demetrakis from the day one, unfortunatly for him and his political carreer he followed his political party's choices and he ruined his political carreer.
Markoulis aint bad but in a phallocrat, anti-femminist and sexiests society, she will never be given the chance.
Sarris name was also manetioned for the 2013 elections, but hey all of the sudden a "scandal" about his private life breaks out.

I would love to see for the 2013 elections only the names of Markos Kyprianou, Erato Kozakou-Markoulli and Michalis Sarris, that will be very interesting to see who will win especially with the petty minds that some voters have.....

I didn't know Kyprianou was gay. Where does this information come from? I can't seem to find reference to this.

Anyway, it doesn't change the fact that Cyprus needs a President who has got presence and clout on the international stage as well as suitable contacts and relationships with other world leaders. No-one else in the running has got this apart from Kyprianou. I still maintain that Anastassiades cannot be trusted.

Anastasiades supported the Annan plan. He is now transforming to get the votes.. do NOT trust him! And why Marcos Kyprianou? What good did he do? In the Mari case he is just as responsible as Christofias!

Absolutely! :?

A homosexual will push for gay marriages and annual Mardi Gras.

A heterosexual will fight for the status quo.

A pedophile will push for a repetition of kindergarten and primary school for repeat offenders.

A necrophilic will push for the abolition of cremation and the right to bury dead in our back yards.

Those into bestiality will push for inter-mammal marriages.

A coprophilic will push to abolish the community sewerage system.

And finally, an asexual will push for the abolishment of sex altogether!

So tell me… if these are not profound social changes I don’t know what are!
