If I could vote I'd be looking for someone who would cut down public spending, if necassary taking on the Unions, and, at the same time, dealing with the curse of Rufseti and party favours, in favour of a true meritocracy.

Good post Cap. The list exposes the junk countries that are keeping the EU down…

Czech R, Estonia, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, and Latvia.

I hope the EU sees the light and throws them all out!

My gut reaction is that Anastassiades can't be trusted. The most competent Cypriot politician IMO is Markos Kyprianou. He won't sell Cyprus out, he has experience at an international level and is the architect of the recent strengthening of ties between Cyprus and Israel. He also understands international propaganda and is well aware of the importance of getting the US firmly on side. He probably won't be in the running though due to the Mari incident.

A distant second choice would be Marcoulis.

...Nikos is the only "straight" one, your choice is a raving poufte, and I won't even comment about the other bloke you mentioned!
