Expat areas to live in

Postby bellamina » Sun Feb 12, 2012 10:23 am

Hi all, what are the most populated expat areas, Larnaca or Paphos, any help would be appreciated.

Paphos area is probabaly the most popular for Brits, but you will find expats in all of the bigger towns and cities: Howwver why do you want to live in some sort of Ghetto?

"'Hotfoot it down to Pafos!".

On a quiet night, you can hear the grumbling and moaning noises wafting in from the West as you relax on the beaches of Larnaka, another few of you won't make that much difference to the sound-waves.

In any case, there are enough 'Expat Brits' in the Larnaka area, thank God, many of them are gathered around the 'Departure Lounges' of the airport.

Yes... The Grumbling GB Ex-Pat Republic of Peyia, Paphos District, springs to mind immediately.

Thanks for your replies, however not one of them sounds that friendly, do you all not like expats?

I have stayed in Peyia and I didn't like it at all.

We are very friendly... just a bit plain-speaking while we're being friendly.

Welcome to CF .... there, that's pretty friendly.

I am an ex-pat!!

Sadly there are few xenophobes here but by and large if you want the best out of Cyprus do not enclave yourself.

I would like to live in a mixed community, not totally expat and vice versa, I need familiarity as well as looking at pastures new.

Find a place out of town in one of the villages (not the suberbs), much nicer than 'Little England' Peyia.
