Airline 'fat tax' could be introduced

From the Telegraph....

I hope none of you are overweight. I presume that you will put your luggage on a scale and then jump on after it, giving a total weight.
Ryanair will love this.

Roll on. :D I am officially underweight. Do I get a discount? Or, extra baggage allowance?

The Turkish Airlines are up in arms about this suggestion, they consider it to be a direct assault upon them since the majority of Turks (and I think it is fair to generalize here) ARE rather on the 'Robust' side.

But they DO seem able to waddle along nicely from time to time.

You can tell by the picture that the 'Large Gentleman' is a Turk since the bloke next to him is sporting a 'Goatee' beard.

The girth of some er, hum, ladies, and 'gents' of Ottoman proportions! Defying the laws of gravity, surely! :D

The 'Stout Chap' was asked at customs "What kind of work do you do?"

"Work?" he replied "Can't you see by my shape that I am a 'Bouncer?".

Not weighing passengers makes a mockery of weighing suitcases.

But planes are designed to safely carry the constant value average adult weight X number of seats (full capacity) but max cargo can only be calculated by weighing suitcases (a variable).

I took one scheduled flight - Sherpa Air from Kathmandu to Lukla - where they weighed the passengers as well as baggage
