Strange on how its the Greek-wannabes that what to hand the Falklands to Argentina, even through its inhabitants are not even Argentinian.

The arguments for handing it to Argentina are because its closer to Argentina than the UK, even though the Falklands are about the same distance from Argentina than Lisbon is to London.

Applying the logic of the Greek-delusionists, Cyprus should be handed to Turkey because its closer to Turkey and the fact that the inhabitants aren't even Turkish is irrelevant.

Turkey also uses similar argument to Argentina (I.e. continental shelfs) to lay claim on the Republic of Cyprus' oil.

Shame on the Greek-wannabes.

What I didn't see anybody arguing for is that because Falklands are islands that they should be a separate country regardless of what the people of the islands want. This logic seems to only apply for Cyprus and not for Falklands or the 99% of islands which are not separate countries on their own.

I am Greek and I don't want to hand the Falklands to Argentina. The local population of Falklands should decide for themselves where they want to belong. Seems that the British believe the same when it comes to Falklands (and Gibraltar and everything else that suits them) but when it comes to Cyprus they want to tell us what our identity should be and where we should belong.

So lets cut the double standards. If the local people of Falklands or Gibraltar or any other place should be allowed to decide where they should belong, the same should apply for Cyprus. Everything else are lame excuses to hide the fact that the self-determination of the Cypriot people was denied because Turkey and UK placed their own interests above the rights of the Cypriot people.

You know what I find strange? It's you silly Brits and let me tell you why if I may be so bold. :D

This is a Cyprus forum and most of us really do not care about the UK or what the British brigade here has to say -- because uhh this is a Cyprus forum. There're quite a few Brit Cyprus forums but this shouldn't be one of them. Quite frankly, my views are not the same as yours because I am not a Brit. And things are never black and white as the imperialist tell us and we know this from experience you silly wannabe Cypriot.

So, stay in the UK. Viva Argentina and Brits Out!
