So what can billions of dollars buy you?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

If Cyprus had billions of dollars to buy a CyProb solution I would choose…

1. A bribe for the occupier to abandon Cypriot territory.
3

2. A bribe for the UNSC to issue a binding resolution in Cyprus' favor.

3. A bribe for a superpower to do Cyprus' dirty work.

So what can billions of dollars buy you?

So what can billions of dollars buy you?

Seriously, what can billions of dollars buy you when you’re in dire need to liberate your illegally occupied territory from a foreign invader? :?

Let’s have a candid look at all the options…

Billions of dollars can buy you:

1. A bribe for the occupier to abandon your territory.

2. A bribe for the UNSC to issue a binding resolution in your favor.

3. A bribe for a superpower to do your dirty work.

4. The hiring of agents and military contractors to do your dirty work.

5. The purchase of an endless supply of Greek history books and pom-pom shoes.

6. Some other investment explained below. (Do NOT click without an explanation)

Go ahead... think about it and choose!

Regards, MP.

I chose option 1 as something worthy of further evaluation.

Options 3 and 4 could also apply if you really wanted to go down that path. But the best option is number 1. Turkey is open to bribery. This could include a pipeline to Europe via Turkey where Turkey is guaranteed a gas supply for 50 years, will make Billions in revenue and become an energy hub!

This could do the trick!

Also, let's not forget that resources are finite. They will eventually be depleted!

So the RoC needs to invest a big chunch of the gas revenue and develop residual income sources for the benefit and prosperity of the nation and future generations!

Just like the UAE which is investing trillions in offshore markets, knowing full well that their oil supply will run out one day, the RoC should do the same. Even use some money to develop other industries.

But the UAE have a natural resource which they have yet to exploit, which you also have a vast supply of!

That's an easy one. I chose No. 6

I would give $100,000 for every registered voter as "trnc citizen" who are settlers, and also give them a EU citizenship and their family (spouse and kids) if they would vote for a BBF/Unitary state settlement to be based on EU Principles. If there are 100,000 registered settlers in the north with voting rights, the cost would be $10 Billion Dollars, but they can ONLY get their 90% of the money in another EU country from the RoC's embassy after 3 years of residence in that EU country. In another words, these settlers will need to leave Cyprus upon getting their EU citizenship with the first £10,000 of the $100,000 to be given to them at the airport just before departure on a One-Way free ticket for the whole family. The TCs who are registered voters in the "trnc" will not get any money for voting for the same settlement. They will get their country back instead, along with the GCs and all the benefits from the revenues that would come from the Oil & Gas.!

A BBF unitary state doesn’t remove Turkey from Cyprus so your plan fails in achieving the goal I initially laid out that the money was meant to be used for.

All you have accomplished is to supposedly cede territory to ”Turkish Cypriots” but in reality gifted it to Turkey as segregated TCs will never be able to manage it without constant Turkish interference.

You have also made Turkish settlers wealthy EU citizens and thereby secured their permanent LEGAL stay on Cyprus!

Finally, the RoC doesn’t need to waste billions of dollars if all it wants is a BBF!

My verdict: Complete FAIL!

I disagree 100% with your analysis.

With EU Principles, ALL the territory will remain Cypriot, BBF or Unitary state.

With EU Principled settlement, Turkey will no longer have an excuse to stay in Cyprus. The EU will kick her out if she refuses, but she will go willingly, if she is still interested in becoming an EU member.

Only the settlers who are able to vote will become wealth. The rest will get kicked out back to Turkey.

Settlers with EU citizenship, (approx. 100,000 )will be happy to collect their $100,000 and move to another EU country or back to Turkey eventually. After 3 years away from Cyprus, the settlers will not need to return back to Cyprus. If anything, they will return back to Turkey.

Settlers will vote to give Cyprus back to Cypriots, so money well spent.

Kikapu, do you honestly believe that TCs are capable of managing a specific territory on Cyprus without tolerating Turkish interferences?

Unlike the GCs whose “Greekness” is politically manufactured myth, the TCs are TRULLY Turkish Kiakpu, so they can never feel away from home among Turks!

The superpower I would bribe to help Cyprus is the EU. They already have a vested interest and a little more persuasion might just do the trick. :)

I don't believe in spreading my loyalties too thinly.
