UEFA Champions League - Knockout phase

14 February 2012

Olympique Lyonnais Vs APOEL FC

A complete unknown footballer by the name of Hélder Sousa has been signed up by APOEL just weeks prior to the big Champion’s League much against Lyon but unfortunately his track record doesn’t look impressive at all…

UEFA Article: Hélder Sousa given APOEL chance

APOEL is in desperate need of goal scoring FORWARDS not bloody midfielders as we all saw APOEL’s poor performance in the absence of Ailton but instead of securing quality players APOEL is gallivanting in God knows what!

I don’t know… I fear a serious hammering in two weeks time because APOEL has done NOTHING to prepare for a match of this caliber! :? And it’s not like they didn’t have time to prepare!

God help us... :?

Do they seriously think that their performance in the group stage is suitable for the knockout stage??? They’ve got to be joking! :?

greetings from Lyon :D

The situation is as follows, as far as injuries go we're missing out on the central defender Oliveira. Everyone else is in.

Lyon had a nasty surprise in store for APOEL when they refused to allow the team to train on the pitch they'll be playing on due to their concern that coupled with the freezing weather the pitch will get damaged for match day. They knew this for days but failed to let APOEL know so that they could plan accordingly and arrive earlier for a noon training session rather than the evening one.

Other than that its fucking freezing and we're hoping for the best. My personal prediction is 1-0 or 1-1

If APOEL plays defensively and is lucky, 0-0 is possible.

Lots of blokes taking their other halves out for drinks and dinner tonight, but only to places showing the game! Most places were fully booked from last week!

I also agree that DT is a @#!$%^*!, especially leaving you at home on Valentines Day!
