The coup was the result of the collaboration between the Junta and the Cypriot coupists, led by Sampson. The difference is that, while the Junta had no legitimacy to act on behalf of the Greek people, Sampson was an elected parliamentarian and the leader of the most popular party in Cyprus at the time.

Moreover, if we are going to play the blame game, we could blame the Cypriots for the Istanbul pogrom in the 50s, since the official excuse of Turkey was that the violent displacement of 200,000 Greeks was in retaliation for the EOKA uprising

the double enosis scheeming started before the junta was in power...the junta just finalised it...as i said before if greece can put all the blame squarely on the junta she'll be flaunting it till the cows come home, and she be saying see it was the gcs and the junta...but the mere fact she ain't opening the cyprus file something tells me there is more than meets the eye...surely you can see the point...

about the junta not having legimatacy is highly debatable as they ruled the roost for 7 years...even so does that make it ok?...and come with such a cheap excuse, it wasn't us it was the junta...what you laughing at our faces you think we stupid?...the turks can use the same shit, it wasn't us it was the ottomans, on the armenian genocide...according to your logic that's ok...

as i said in cyprus you have a lot of backwards thinking greek wannabies...

First of all, calm down because you've become incomprehensible.
Can you prove that the plan "started before the junta" or is it just a conjecture? I could as easily assume that the Cyprus file remains closed by request of the ROC.
On the other hand, the status of Sampson in Cypriot politics at the time is a fact, on which you have not commented yet.

Also, any comments on the Istanbul pogrom?

from 64-74 the gcs had exclusive running of the state...no tcs in government...no veto...tcs some willingly some forced in enclaves...and this led to a partial enosis with greece you could say...from 64-74 greece never stopped meddling in cyprus affairs, unless you dispute this as well...even thou we were running the state exclusively...why the meddling?...

now comes the interesting part...why then the gcs and greeks pushed for a coup when they had it all?...clearly the greeks knew more that the gcs...this is a fact?...what would greece gain out of the coup, junta or no junta...the "greeks" of cyprus had it all...you might want to share some light...

the cyprus file is locked up by greece mate, because the roc PUBLISHED their findings with no great help from greece...it shows you here which nation is more matured...

not only regarding sampson, as i said in cyprus you have a lot of backwards thinking greek wannabies...

regarding the pogrom what would you like me to add?...the turks are reactionaries?...aren't there enough gaffes by them recently?...israel, roc, france and god knows tomorrow...murders?..one day they will also bask in humanity, there is hope for them...but you need to think greece was doing deals with this nation in the form of backstabing cyprus...what does that tell you about the greeks doing business with the devil in selling the fellow "greeks"...papandreou tried to sell us the annan plan...since you asked...

incomprehensible?...greek boy leave your WAFF tactics where they belong, at the WAFF...endaksi poulloue mou?...

Nice... so let me see if I got it straight:
-The pogrom was executed by Turkey while blaming Cyprus
-The invasion was executed by Turkey while blaming Greece
You say Turkey was wrong in blaming Cyprus and right in blaming Greece. Well done!

Don't you think that your "exclusive running of the state" had more to do with the invasion than the coup? Since you're assuming so much, I could assume that Sampson and his voters (half of Cyprus) begged the Junta to come and overthrow Makarios so that this exclusivity could become official. Now what?

It's pathetic to blame an entire nation for the deeds of their illegal regime, while on the other hand reject all responsibility. Sampson was not just a "Greek wannabe", he was, probably, the next president of Cyprus had he not attempted to take the seat by force.

What is WAFF?

Here is another theory regarding the closed Cyprus file:

After the invasion, post-Junta Greece and Cyprus agree to hide all proof that many Cypriot officials (apart from Sampson) assisted or even implored the Junta to launch the coup. They decide to put all the blame on the Junta so as to victimize the RoC in the eyes of the UN and the world community. Almost 40 years later, some stupid neo-Cypriots won't shut up about it and openly and publicly blame Greece for the Turkish invasion. The Greek government responds by opening the files and all hell breaks loose.

What findings? Even if they were able to find anything, they would destroy it, not put it in a file

Depends on what you mean by "Greece". The Greeks? Definitely. The Junta? Definitely not.
And what do you believe, is Cyprus "squeaky clean"?

So Cyprus was guilty until it released the file a few months ago? Do you realize how stupid your arguments sound? I've told you, it's you who may not like what the Greek file contains

whether i am ready, man what do you think?...i want to expose this greek duplicity and when i got time i'll do wikileaks on greece as i done with cyprus and turkey and see if there are any double dealings regarding cyprus...actually as you can see i am more than ready...in fact i expect it...the question is are these other wannaby greeks ready?...

but really to a greek and a wannaby greek it was the junta...simple huh?...and that makes it ok...thank god it's put to bed...

I never denyed gcs involvement...in fact we got a few from the yesterday era today and yes in this frorum...i am surprised you haven't noticed...
