Kimon, what you say was said to Boomerang by me and others many times. If we should change our ethnicity from Greek to something else because some other Greeks did something wrong, then similarly if you claim that your ethnicity is Cypriot, then again you should change your ethnicity to something else because some Cypriots did something wrong. In the end we would indeed have to pretend to be Martians since there is nobody on Mars to ever do anything wrong.

Ethnicity and identity is something that you acquire early in life and it is given to you by those who raise you, not something that you can pick and choose and change at will whenever you feel like. Boomerang didn't change his identity because some Cypriots betrayed Cyprus but he still seems to expect us to change our identity.

Greece has jailed the leaders of the Junta and this is an action that counts more than any empty words. Those who were responsible have been punished and this is more than a mere apology from them. The Greek government did more than any other government to punish those responsible for the events of 74. Turkey treated its own criminals as heroes, while Cyprus, with the exception of Sampson, has punished nobody else. Beyond that you can not hold all Greeks responsible for the actions of a few. If that was the case then since Sampson and others like him were Cypriot that would mean that the whole Cyprus is responsible for the actions of a few Cypriots. If that is what you believe, and since you claim that you are Cypriot, then when did YOU apologize?
