That’s because the current
liturgical language used is Greek, and has nothing to do with Greece or Greeks being involved with the Church of Cyprus, now or in the past. The official Christian family under which the Church of Cyprus belongs is the
Eastern Orthodox Church (not "Greek Orthodox") which once again has nothing to do with Greece or Greeks.
For your info both gnosis and religion arrived into Europe including Greece, from
Cyprus; a much older civilization indeed part of the cradle of civilization, and just a stone’s throw away from the Holy Land, thanks to the
Cypriot Apostle Barnabas.
