Cypriot Through and through and Proud of It. I don't deny that Greek is my primary language but I acknowledge that it is final year level because that is all I went to school in Cyprus. English being my second language is the language I feel comfortable in communicating in. And being an immigrant marsupial in my adopted Country I respect the values and norms and language and it's indigenous population.

Did it happen during the years 500AD and 1453 when the territories of modern Greece, Cyprus, and Turkey were under the Eastern Roman Empire?

No, long before these events.

Did it happen during the years 1458 and 1828 when the territory of modern Greece was under Ottoman occupation and Greece did not exist?

No, way longer before this previous occupation.

Did it happen during the years 1571 and 1878 when Cyprus was under Ottoman occupation and Greece mostly did not exist?

No, much, much longer before the modern world had its renaissance and enlightenment as to the Greek Classic world, which existed in the only definitive capacity.

Did it happen during the years 1878 and 1960 when Cyprus was under British occupation?

Silly billy! It was sooooo long before this! But your seeds were abroad ...

Did it happen during the years 1960 and 2012 when you were born in Greece?

No. This language became "official" in 1960 even though it is waayyyy older than the language in which the "Constitution" was written. This constitution singled you out as Turk or English, latterly arrived in Cyprus, if you did not happen to be part of the majority who spoke Greek.
