How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

A major problem is that much of what you call "my" backyard actually belongs to the GC's. The TC's and their master, the Turkish army, stole and continue to occupy what does not belong to them.

If the Turks continue to insist on a two state solution, then they should stop the charade and withdraw from the EU accession negotiations NOW. Turkey will face a certain veto in the future if it persists in this demand.

A two state solution would be the best resolution for the Nagarno- Karabagh conlfict. My Armenian Brethren make up 10 percent of the population of Azerbizan, but they should have 50 percent say in that nation with the right to self determination .

Turks and their supporters need to come to terms with their past. Turkey's "friends" do it a great disservice by not helping it face the horrors of its GENOCIDAL history.

The following quote on page 6 of Samantha Power's 2002 book "A Problem From Hell" America and the Age of Genocide is very illuminating.

On July 10, 1915 Henry Morgenthau Sr., American Ambassador to the Ottoman empire, sent the following cable to Washington:

"Persecution of Armenians assuming unprecedented proportions. Reports from widely scattered districts indicate systematic attempt to uproot peaceful Armenian populations and through arbitrary arrests, terrible tortures, whole-sale expulsions and deportations from one end of the Empire to the other accompanied by frequent instances of rape, pillage, and murder turning into massacre, to bring destruction and destitution on them. These measures are not in response to popular or fanatical demand but are purely arbitrary and directed from Constantinople in the name of military necessity, often in districts where no military operations are likely to take place."

I love both my parents...my mother is Arab not Greek...Greek Orthodox, not Greek. Armenian Genocide, I see...the Malta Tribunals conducted by the British say otherwise you know...

I will NEVER consider Greeks who are Hellenic ultra-nationalists or hateful as my spiritual brethren. I have even been to the Holy Mountain as a pilgrim, broken bread with Greeks and Greek Cypriots at the monastery trapezaria, yet they were not hateful like some of the Greeks on this forum.

I also have many Greek friends and Greek Cypriot friends...no issues with them.

what belongs to whom is a matter of opinion...you are certainly entitled to yours Nikiforos...we do not have to agree...now that the E.U. has admitted the Greek side but not the Turkish side (even though agreement was if the North said yes to the Annan Plan, things would be different), many Greeks are now making the same argument you are...opening a can of worms and opening Pandora's Box...that's what the E.U. did...

I thank GOD that I am not in your shoes. It must be very stressful coming from such a mixed background.

Did your parents marry in the Greek Orthodox Church? As far as I know, a Greek Orthodox may NOT marry a non-Christian (Jew, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, etc.) IN the Church.

No, it is a matter of law. I believe that the GC's AND the TC's should have their properties restored to them.
