Actually it would be interesting to see how they came up with this index, and what parameters were used.

I actually think that Cyprus should be far higher, like say in the top 5, because there certainly is a lot of press freedom in Cyprus and not to mention many newspapers as well. Australia also deserves a higher rank but I have noticed how the media pander to the select few and it can be at times corrupt, Greek style.

Oh, I am coming home in a couple of months, with a couple of new Cypriots that will see their motherland for the first time!

Only because Cyprus' rating is too low! That was a dead giveaway for me!

Lucky you didn’t apply in the US… you’d be in Guantanamo by now and a recipient of the free “Hard Time” magazine for undesirables!

Yes, Cyprus' rating is FAR TOO LOW!

Where else do you get like 15 daily newspapers covering a broadspectrum of views and ideologies? Some newspapers are Right leaning, others are Left leaning, there are socialist papers and independant ones as well. 15 dailies for 800,000 people. You don't get that kind of media in other countries catering from the alternative to the populist and everything in between.
