why did greece and greek wannabies

Postby boomerang » Thu Jan 26, 2012 2:08 am

handed 1/3 of cyprus to turkey?...

1...from 64 to 74 cyprus was run exclusively by gcs
2...enosis was sort of achieved but not concreted - still not good enough we wanted to be a province?
2...tcs were in enclaves - some with the choice some with TMT force
4...the 13 points became the norm - no tcs in government
5...inonu told the tcs to return to government - no hint of invasion
6...turkey might had plans to invade but needed an excuse
7...why did greece handed 1/3 of cyprus to turkey?..

here you go piratis trying answering these questions...

I'm beginning to really like this forum, it's one good thread after another. I have not been around for a while but I seriously like what I've seen so far. Good job boomerang.

I know his answer already… he’ll just say “It wasn’t Greece but the junta!” but of course he’d be a liar because double enosis was schemed upon by Greece’s government with Turkey PRIOR to the junta’s existence!

Sweeping statements and generalisations do not help. Inonu was the voice of reason in Turkey. An honest man whom we failed to evaluate properly. He had adversaries who had a dark agenda for Cyprus. The same goes for Greece. Good people with sound advice and bad people who eventually brought calamity to Cyprus (and Greece too). The bad guys could have done nothing to affect Cyprus had they not found people willing to go along with them in our island. Their substance of addiction? Nationalism, which they offered liberally to people already addicted to it through a suspect school indoctrination programme. So, let's not blame Greece and Turkey at large. There are very specific elements in each country that we should point our fingers at. But, here in Cyprus, those people and their mentality that brought disaster, are now getting ready to "serve" Cyprus again. Their methods have not changed. They tell us to go for the desirable and vilify the feasible. This sure prescription for disaster they serve us and once again (people never learn) we are biting. God help us.

By blaming others will not help to find right way....First we must understand our mistakes....who were the EOKA or TMT men ? They were all our fathers, brothers or uncles..... They were the ones holding guns in their hands....we were the same people electing them and bringing them to power.
We didn't show our children to love others............we lived together ! what happened ? and we started to hate each other....This didn't happen at one night....hidden feelings came out...these hidden feelings must be result of the our educations or family systems....you need to learn to share !
you need to learn to have others culture, religion and past too.....

Overall it’s a good post Halil except for the part about “sharing” because I don’t believe in sharing but EARNING!

For example, Marios Karoyian is an Armenian who fought his way to the top of Cyprus politics… he didn’t ask for special sharing privileges. He just became one of the boys...

Those are the same lame excuses that the Turks used and have been answered over and over. In short, the Cypriot people have the right to democratically choose what to do with their own island and that includes uniting it with Greece, EU or even China. Neither foreign countries, nor any small minorities have the right to overwrite the democratically expressed will of the Cypriot people, and our democratic choices can not be an excuse for any action against us by foreigners. Regarding the Junta, they came to power with a coup and they didn't have the support of the Greek people. Several coups happened in Turkey as well, and this was not an excuse for a foreign country to invade Turkey and ethnically cleanse a 3rd of its population. These lame Turkish excuses have been answered in this forum many times.

So lets concentate in what is different in this thread: A so called "Cypriot" using the same lame excuses as the Turks do to excuse the Turkish occupation. I believe I have now proven my point that you are not Cypriot. If you want to provide more evidence to support this fact please go ahead. You will not be the first pro-Turk British we have seen in here.
