Those are the same lame excuses that the Turks used and have been answered over and over. In short, the Cypriot people have the right to democratically choose what to do with their own island and that includes uniting it with Greece, EU or even China. Neither foreign countries, nor any small minorities have the right to overwrite the democratically expressed will of the Cypriot people, and our democratic choices can not be an excuse for any action against us by foreigners. Regarding the Junta, they came to power with a coup and they didn't have the support of the Greek people. Several coups happened in Turkey as well, and this was not an excuse for a foreign country to invade Turkey and ethnically cleanse a 3rd of its population. These lame Turkish excuses have been answered in this forum many times.

So lets concentate in what is different in this thread: A so called "Cypriot" using the same lame excuses as the Turks do to excuse the Turkish occupation. I believe I have now proven my point that you are not Cypriot. If you want to provide more evidence to support this fact please go ahead. You will not be the first pro-Turk British we have seen in here.

hehehe...you gotta be shitting me mate...the majority spoke and fought the coupists...hence the civil war...but in a typical fashion a fascist answer at its best...

from 64-74 you had it all but that wasn't enough was it...your idea was for cyprus to become a greece province via brute force AGAINST THE MAJORITY that you so harp on about...there were no brits and turks at the time, you know it, i know it and everyone knows it, apart from the traitors to cyprus...and you my friend are a traitor, not worthy of you of calling your self a cypriot

end of the day the coup for enosis in 74 was the minority forcing the will on the majority...CYPRIOTS KILIING CYPRIOTS...when are you going to grow up and accept facts...you had it all mate....

so who is the cypriot here and who is not huh?...the coupists, minority that handed the island to turkey or the majority that wanted to keep the island as is?...the democratic elected majority spoke but you weren't listening you had to hand 1/3 of cyprus to turkey...

if there was no coup, today the tcs would have had minority righs by default, nothing wrong with that BTW, coz a minority still has more rights than the majority...not negotiating an apatheid sytem for system for cyprus as it stands today...

piratis and all you unionists are a lost cause...you all are an anethema to cyprus...why didn't you respect the will of your own democratically elected government...

I laugh as you label people and then you jump to 3000 years ago and then you jump in the 60's to justify your own stupidity...forgetting that between 64 and 74 it was greece that lit the fuse for our own destruction...

BTW i do no agree with fascist turkey regarding ethnic cleansing, colonization and guarantor crap...

so who
1...didnot respect the will of the majority of the cypriot people
2...did no respect democracy...
GREECE your motherland...

Has greece apologised for all the wrong doings yet?...

Well said, Piratis.

A severe bout of short-termism seems to have afflicted the main anti-Greek contributors.

- Not satisfactory enough to be anti-Greek, they have stepped down to all-out pro-Turkish. There is a connection, of course.

Can you point to me even a single post I made where I supported the Junta? On the contrary what I support is democracy and majority rule (always with respect to human and minority rights).

So of course the Junta didn't respect democracy and the will of the Greek people in general (not just Cypriots). This is why the leaders of the Junta were jailed for life and rightly so (on the other hand the fascists of Turkey and UK where never convicted for their crimes). Similar coups happened in Turkey and many other countries. So what? Because a coup happened our ethnicity should change? Or because a coup happened a third country has the right to invade and ethnically cleanse a 3rd of our population? Are these your lame arguments?

And by the way, I don't use the "motherland" word. Cyprus is just as Greek as any other Greek territory, there are no "mother Greek territories" and "child Greek territories".

well you support the civil war against the democratically elected government of cyprus in 74... ...this in itself is speaks volumes today...

how about the facsists in cyprus that didn't support the will of the majority in 74, should they also rot in jail?...better claim the 5th on this one if i was you...

and you don't support fascisism... ...start pulling the other one, it squirts... even your above comment reaks of i am greek so therefore greece is my motherland...

repent and denounce the coup piratis...i dare you...
