Why do you think Russia is building a second pipeline to Europe through Turkey's EEZ in the Black sea when they already have a pipeline going through Ukraine? Well, it's to keep Ukraine honest to honour her agreements with Russia, that's all.

1. Major EU accession hurdle (The Cyprus problem) eliminated and a new push for the opening and evaluation of all blocked accession chapters.

2. Free oil/gas for Turkey’s domestic needs for the next 50 years.

Well, if the RoC wants to have alternative plans they can I suppose but they should be careful not to raise suspicions with Turkey and end up with a sour deal and collapse.
