This crook walked around barefoot until the 1974 Turkish invasion/occupation when he acquired a GC’s clothes making factory free of charge!
He literally went from pauper to “business man” overnight!
Yet he never bothered to come and find the legal owner of the factory he stole and offer him or his family; who were now penniless on the streets, something as a token of appreciation for his change of fortune!
This story disgusts me every time I think about it!
I have always admired your honesty GR but on this occasion there are certain facts you seem to be unaware of. I remember living in a street called Ossory Raod off of Old Kent road back in 1965, we were there for about 4 years and then moved to North London. During our stay in Ossory Road Mr Irfan Nadir used to deliver to every Turkish and Greek family cut dresses and skirts to make at home.
You probably know in the garment trade every factory had outdoor machinist and many TC's and GC's worked at home machining skirts and dresses, my mother included. Mr Nadir used to drive around in his van delivering and collecting garments till late at night.
I'm no fan of Asil but to say he walked barefoot until he stole a GC's factory is simply fantasy. His father worked hard and provided well for his family. Furthermore, Irfan Nadir paid better than any other factory. I hope there'll be elderly GC's from the UK who will back me on this.
