You're right Cap ... where-ever it happens,it has to be exposed and concerned citizens have a duty to condemn it...

100% agree with GR! on zero tolerance to such people. They are lucky I wasn't there. Have seen what such people have done in the UK and I don't want it escalating in Cyprus.

Give Police more power to destroy these gangs!

There is no evidence whatsoever that these policemen were involved in any type of ...

The poster stated the policemen were undercover and:

This means that they had been tracking them and would have had a history.

- But that's the sort of detail pot-frazzled brains like yours would miss.

Well, this "pot-frazzled" brain thinks that people who find themselves in this situation should be arrested with due process and brought before a Court of Law and not beaten up on road-sides, of GB or CY or anywhere else.

Another patient for the CF Clinic .... yes, some radio therapy would be suitable, here wear this lump of plutonium under a hat. That should do the trick.

Damn right BillC.

Fact of the matter is, if the OP is true and accurate, then these "police officers" should be sacked, then charged for assault.

However, I fear that the OP might not be that accurate and is just looking to slander Cyprus and its police service. That is not to say that there are not any rogue officers in Cyprus. I believe that police brutality and corruption has existed from time to time in all countries and that includes Cyprus, however I do believe that our police force in Cyprus is relatively clean and of high quality.

Even if the suspects were carrying drugs, then the police should just arrest them. No other action necessary unless resisting arrest and then only proportional force should be used with every effort being made to not hurt them.

There is absolutely no excuse for any police in any country to pull someone from their car and then beat them up.

The question I wish to raise is this. If the opening poster witnessed such a thing by CyPol, then:
a) why did they not speak up against the officers so that he/she can put a halt to the assault, and/or
b) if the above is not possible, then why did he/she not take the registration number of the undercover police vehicle and make a police report about the incident and also report it to the CY Police Ombudsman or Ministry of Justice?

A responsible and concerned citizen would do one or both of the above options, but instead they chose not to do this and whinge on an Internet forum.

The OP doesn't sit right with me. :?

Agreed, but these people come along with their generalizations and insinuations.
In 'civilized' countries mishimou.
I can post a million links that prove otherwise.

That's what fkn infuriates me.

Haven't touched pot and other recreational drugs for decades.

Drop in to the CF Clinic and will prescribe you some mind-expanding drugs. You are in need of some.
