There was a poll which revealed that the TCs most trusted the Turkish Army and therefore did not want them to leave unless there is a comprehensive solution. You can collect all the resolutions you wish it dont change a thing in reality.

In that case, no reason why such 'TCs' cannot follow TA back to Turkey, too.

If TCs really believe that 40,000 Turkish troops are stationed in the north to "protect" them, then they're ignorant fools and they deserve to become extinct.

The European Parliament draft resolution on the 2011 Progress Report on Turkey calls on Turkey to begin withdrawing its military troops from Cyprus.

It also calls on Turkey to fully implement the Additional Protocol to the EC-Turkey Association Agreement towards Cyprus, noting that Ankara's refusal to do so continues to deeply affect the process of EU - Turkey negotiations.

That is the draft, I wonder if the final resolution will look the same.

This resolution is "nice" but falls short to publish non compliance measures such as:

1. Sanctions. The EU was/is powerless to impose sanctions against Turkey. By just freezing some chapters is nowhere near enough pressure to force Turkey to comply.
2. Turkish asset freezing across Europe. EU simply does not have the guts to do this.
3. Military intervention to remove TK occupying troops. I doubt if EU has the muscle for this one.
4. Shutting down Turkish embassies in Euro area. Unthinkable.
5. Involving the US to apply pressure. Well, USA and Turkey are still buddies...

Well, how do you get the Turkish troops out of Cyprus?

My guess is... ALL OF THE ABOVE!

If GCs think that if the TA leaves all their problems will be over they are stupid scum who deserve to lose their land forever. (two can play at your game)

We are trying for the last 37 years...
Are you suggesting we should begin to take showers together every Saturday night?

Not at all, but as was the problem in the past GCs should include the TCs not exclude them, the shadow government idea to me is a way forward but you would have problems getting the majority of GCs to accept this idea.
