Is he asking people not to go to the IPC?
Is he asking people to go to the IPC?
Is he asking people not to go to the ECHR?
Is he asking people to go to the ECHR?

Anyone!

That would ONLY benefit Turkey financially and for them to declare "finders keepers" of GCs properties in the north.

The IPC becomes more useless and in shambles after being a sham.

No further headache for the ECHR by the refugees.

Really, that's what our good friend Bananiot wants?

Two cases have been decided so far and the story goes like this:

The ECHR ruled and Turkey did not pay up until a final settlement was agreed with the ipc. In other words, what was agreed was for the ipc to compensate for the properties and then the money was dished out. Loss of use provides paper money to the claimants, unless they settle things with the ipc and kiss their properties forever good bye. This is because loss of use cannot be paid repeatedly. On top, the ipc has taken the cue from the ECHR which has accepted the Turkish estimates for the pre-1974 values and negotiates only on these estimates.

Is this something to be jubilant about? Anyone?

After reading his input for about 5 years I'd conclude that what Bananiot wants is revenge on some elements of the Cypriot public for mistreatment his family seemingly got during the 1955...1960 commotion.

He just has a colorful way of approaching the issue from multiple angles but never quite touching it…

Apparently the "assembly" of the "trnc" is GC property and the rightful owners want it back...

The owners of Diannelos Cigarettes factory which houses the assembly applied to ECHR demanding their property back

Under the title They want the Dianellos building, Turkish Cypriot daily Haberdar newspaper (12.01.12) reports about the Diannelos Cigarettes Factory, which houses the self-styled assembly of the breakaway regime in occupied Lefkosia, and writes that the Greek Cypriot owners of the factory asked their property back applying to the European Court of Human Rights.

According to the paper, the owners of the building, applied to ECHR, on 26 December 2011, demanding for the return of their property and for compensation for the use of their property. However, on 10 January 2012, ECHR rejected their application suggesting that they should apply first to the Compensation Committee of the occupation regime.

I suspect that one or more of your parents is/was British and/or was/were working for the Brits during the EOKA incidents and may have been subject to some form of discrimination by them.

I cannot possibly have gotten EVERYTHING wrong Bananiot, because everyone here's got his beef…

I wish you'd find alternative sources than that hellenic crap which often posts stories that nobody else has heard about!

I'm not saying that this particular one is necessarily fabricated but let's just say that this web site doesn't score high on the credibility scale.
