Good idea, however it is not necessary to not make your plans known in order to give yourself time to find an alternative/replacement so you can faze out the dead weight. This is what I beleive the EU has done with great schrewdness. if I am correct, Turkey will find out the hard way without the EU having to put their point across in not so certain terms to the Turks or in a way that portrays that the EU actually cares about their attitude. its their loss.

You keep throwing mud which does not stick, when will the EU grow balls and tell Turkey to FO?

You might have to revise that, Bill...

Cyprus EU Presidency has begun already says Deputy Minister

:D

Yes, it's the way the Term Presidencies work... but think Turkey didn't know how they worked, in that there is an overlap at both ends of the Presidency, so yes CY will have started contributing on 1 Jan with the current Presidency and there will be a period of hand-over to the Presidency that will follow CY.... so in some ways CY is involved for 18 months and not just the 6 months of the Presidency proper.

Turkey will never join the EU at this rate, not that you care but why does Turkey then waste her time going to the meetings in the first place, with or without the RoC as term president?

We have discussed this so many times, you are right Turkey will never enter the EU and she knows it, so why strive for what you will never achieve, she just goes through the motions to keep the economic advantages afloat which you suckers have meeting after meeting trying to decide which pencils to buy or which member state is to collapse next.
