Australians are English but call themselves Australians
Argentinians are Spaniards but call themselves Argentinians
Some Cypriots are Greek and call themselves Greek

I may be "Greek", but I am first and foremost a Cypriot.

I've been to Greece many times, and one thing I learned from the experience is that we are not the same people.

Translation in Cypriot of your post.
"Pareta yie mou.. appothikes tsie lalis pellares".

It is self understood and respected that what counts is how one feels. But the meaning of my post had nothing top do with the debate in other threads about whether we GCs are or not Greek and whether Greeks of other parts of Greece and GCs are closely related ethnically or not.
