If Cypriots are not connected to the ancient civilization/s that existed right here in their own country (such as the Choirokitians, Sotirans, etc) then who the hell can they possibly be connected to? :?

The Slavic tribes that occupied the territory of modern Greece?

Grow up and start using your brain for once!

There were no civilizations in Cyprus 12.000 years ago. A small village of a couple of 100 people is not called a "civilization", not to mention that those people went extinct 1000s of years ago and therefore we could not possibly be related to them. We have no linguistic, cultural or any other connection with those people. Our only connection is that we came to the same island. (because they also came to Cyprus from somewhere else, they didn't grow from the land of Cyprus).

Pre-historic settlements existed everywhere, and in many places are far older than in Cyprus. If people identified themselves based on the nearest pre-historic settlement then there wouldn't be any English, French, Russian, Greek, Turkish etc etc nations.

10,000 years ago the Chiorokitian 600 odd settlement wasn’t just a civilization but a metropolis!

Had you lived in those days and laid eyes on it for the first time, your jaw would’ve dropped and called out…

 CROM!

And why on earth would any sane Cypriot want to be a part of the defunct Greek Slavic Ottoman Nation? Can you please explain that!

Why is it that most Cypriots actually detest Greek Ottomans, and are the butt of our jokes?

And yes, if we were patient we would have been a fully independent Cypriot Nation, and division would be impossible.

Basically, it is Greece and Hellenism itself that undermined our island. You need to offer something a lot more substantial than religion, language or that a few Greeks came to Cyprus to trade their tupperware. Even if true, who did they trade with?

You are all victims of the "Greek" sponsored education system.

It’s your brain cells that have become extinct from all the Greek gymnasium rubbish they’ve stuffed in your pea!

According to your bollocks everything on Cyprus (an isolated island) became extinct yet everything in Greece is a perfect continuation with no extinction, despite hordes of Slavs forever invading and occupying them!

Does anyone know why the British forced most Cypriots (when getting id cards or registering the births of male children) to abandon their Greek family names and take up the name of their grand father as a surname (George Georgiou, Andreas Andreou, Nicos Nikolaou, Solomos Solomou, Isaak Isaak etc)?

The Ancient Greek root myth

Greeks should be more conscientious about their Slavic origins.

Many scholars believe that Modern Greeks have no ties with Ancient Greece. They are predominately a mixture of Slavic, Albanian and Vlach influences....

The following scholars support the idea that Modern Greeks are Slavic:
1. Byzantine Emperor Constantine Porphyrgenitus,
2. Jakob Philipp Fallmerayer,
3. R H Jenkins,
4. Nicholas Hammond,
5. Robert Browning,
6. Nicholas Cheetham,
7. Arndol Toynbee, and
8. Tom Winnifrith

"The whole of Hellas has been Slavicized" - Byzantine Emperor Constantine Porphyrgenitus.

"The Slav invasions and settlements of the late 6th and 7th centuries resulted in the expulsion, or extirpation of the original inhabitants of the Greek Peninsula" - Jakob Philipp Fallmerayer.

The Philhellene Nicholas Hammond - "By the time of Greek Independence in 1830, the Greeks are probably Slavic"

"The Slavs overran the entire peninsula" - Nicholas Cheetham

The Greeks are largely Slav, but hold a strong feeling for the great past of their nation - A School History of The Great War by Albert E McKinlay pg27

You mean "support" or "claim". But, as you know, many others contradict them do not. (See my posts under "Hellenism").

On the other hand, if your scholars are right, then the only pure Greeks in the world are US, the Greek Cypriots, our Greek ancestry going back to 9000 BC. Right? Or to make you feel more comfortable, back to 1200 BC. So WE ARE the pure Greeks, aren't we??

I think Byzantine Emperor Constantine Porphygenitus would know more about his subjects than you or I, as he had first hand experience so how can that be a claim instead of fact?

Greeks never existed back in 9000BC but Cyprus already had a thriving civilisation. 8)
