repulsewarrior wrote:wow, now in know that vp is not entirely wrong about his fears. all this brouhaha about Nation yet we are a State, bigger than a Nation because within it, its content is a set of Nations. I have no problem in identifying myself as Greek, but I am not "Greek", frankly i am glad i am not "Greek", and i feel fortunate to be Cypriot.
...so if i understand correctly, in a "Greek" world, even Phillipinos get assimilated and become Greeks?
...or they remain second class because you must be "pure" as a Greek to be a "Greek"?
...1/3 of the Occidental world is "Greek", just look at the White House in Washington, is it not "Greek"?
...maybe there is a Cypriot population that is "Cypriot", that would be nice, but not relevant. what is relevant is self determination, and in that regard Nation has nothing to do with Cyprus.

...and to get back on topic, Greece is a great country, its people are motivated at present by the greed which has struck most of the world. they have now a chance to demonstrate the resolve that will either keep them subject to a government that promotes corruption so that a ruling class maintains their benefits, or to return to a government which serves their will. by example one will hope that other populations will have the guidance they need to resolve in their countries very similar problems.

Like I’ve stressed many times… just because archeologists haven’t yet found a clear cut continuation from one civilization to another doesn’t necessarily mean that it doesn’t exist! They simply haven’t found it yet! The same goes for the ancient history of every other country where there are gaps between major events that have yet to be filled and perhaps some may never be filled.
