Then why do you insist on identifying with something you discovered to be incompatible with? :?

Just trust your instincts…

The extent to which I identify myself as Greek only goes as far as a Brazillian identifies themselves as Portuguese.

I would be one of the first to take down all of the Greek flags that fly next to the Cypriot flag for political reasons and replace them with EU flags.

You're probably not any more similar to most GCs either, other than your closest relatives.

The Greek flag next to the RoC flag is perfectly compatible with the origins of the majority of Cypriots.

You need a history lesson on your origins.

Cypriots existed 8000 years before the Greeks came on the scene some 4000 years ago.

At least you agree we have a known continuous Greek presence on Cyprus for some 4000 years. :D That's good enough to make it a Greek inhabited island - since recorded history ...

No it has been continuously a Cypriot island for 12000 years, the Greeks are merely immigrants to our island.

One day you will wake up and realise the biggest lie you were ever fed is "you are Greek".

I would ask you to expand on your positivism, but it's already so full of flaws you can keep it. :D

imperialism by language...

Greek then was like English today; you do not have to be "Greek" to speak Greek.

...by the same token, by insisting that Greekness makes you "Greek", "Turks" subject Turks.

Sadly, you have been brainwashed. The brainwashing is perpetuated by plethora of Greek flags.

Don't get me wrong, I do not dislike the Greeks, they are not us and we are not them,

The Cyprus problem is not about Greek vs. Turk, but Cypriot vs. Turk.
