British MPs sign Cyprus resolution

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

It's a mistake to confuse the views of some British MPs with those of the Government. Some of them have campaigned for Cyprus for years, my late father's MP Roger Gale, for instance. Some of them represent the voice of UK Cypriots in the international arena. Listen what some of them have to say here: -

It's a pity that high profile British based Greek Cypriots like Stelios, Theo Paphitis and Peter Andre don't add their voices to those in Parliament. We all know the reason why they don't of course, their fat wallets are more important to them than Cyprus.

Do these resolutions make any difference? does it change or solve the problem?

In Stelios' defence a little... he does at least contribute to apolitical reconciliation efforts in a neutral sort of way, in sponsoring annual awards with grants to new cross ceasefire-line CY business endeavours.

You are right of course Bill but I've never seen him reported as saying "it's time the Cyprus problem was sorted"or anything of a similar nature.

And yes he does contibute to reconciliation projects, one of them is to do with hire cars that can be driven across the Green Line. The Turkish Cypriot partner in the venture is a bloke called Izzet - you know - the one who runs CY44 and kicks you off it if you challenge the legality of "trnc"
