You may extract a resume from this link and the subsequent 5-6 pages.

PS: Which Macedonia you come from, the Bulgarian, the Greek or the ex-Yugoslavian one?

I think the answer is obvious, right? As a Cypriot, why does the name he refers to his country bother you?

No it is not.

I am from Limassol. If tomorrow Egypt brakes up into several countries and they decide to name one of these countries "limassol" then if I say "I am from Limassol" it will mean I am Egyptian?

Macedonia has always been part of the Greek world and today part of it belongs to the Greek state. I don't understand why if somebody says "I am from Macedonia" we should assume that he is from a nearby country that call themselves Macedonia.
If you go to Greece you will find many people that say "I am from Macedonia" and they have nothing to do with FYROM.

Okay, now that I look more carefully on the e-mail address I suppose it is from the ex-Yugoslavian one. Why do you think it bothers me?

OK. It may be just out of curiosity and not because you were bothered.

The link that you provided is a good one, by the way.

It is absolutely clear what he means, as it is a fact that the Republic of Macedonia is now recgonized under is constitutional name by the USA, Russia and many other coutries including Bulgaria.

Macedonia has always been part of the Greek world and today part of it belongs to the Greek state.

No, Macedonia has not always been part of the Greek world, in fact its only association with the greek world has been in antiquity through Alexander the Great, and a bit later it has been part of the Byzantine empire, but for most of its history since 7th-8th century, Macedonia has been predominantly slavic and has been part of the Bulgarian and Serbian medieval states before the turks arrived. The Southern part of Macedonia (Aegean Macedonia) has had predominantly slavic population too, but the Greek state ethnically cleansed it of ethnic slavs as it annexed it after the First & Second Balkan Wars.
